Administrator is just covering his ass. It's a liability issue. If he doesn't respond and attempt to control SOME of the lunacy then the site is condoning the behavior in question.

I'm just glad some of you feel the same way I do about what I'm reading on this forum recently. I know I'm a relative newbie to the site, but not to surfing. One thing is for sure, the established hierarchy which exists in any lineup in NO WAY translates to this forum. Not that it should, just ironic.

 

So what's with the whole 8 thing? Was lee planning to bust a megalodon some here with his 8?

I think it was a vertical infinity sign. Basically lee was saying vertical infinity (8) is equal toooooooooooooooooo (==========) or greater than (>).... What? we may never know.

Brew was more focused onthe change of vertical infinity (8) is equal toooooooooooooooooooooooo (=============) delta (D).


These equations are not on my level but I've seen them before.

 

for the Record I agree with LeetheStud. even though I got on him about his andy irons avatar.... he's really spot on. the forum used to be a great place for surf related topics. slowly declining to gov't coverups and airplanes spewing out mind control gasses.

Its appropriate for the rules to be layed out again.

for the koo koos saying that the forum will be boring now that people can't bring up what they think are interesting topics.... look at it this way.... for us, the forum will be less annoying without the tinfoil cap crowd dropping in on otherwise good surf related discussions.

I'd love to go surfing but everyday when I look out my window, all I see is the flat lake atlantic. Jersey hasnt fared too much better.

All internet forums suffer from what we have here... the infusion of topics that stir emotion but are sooo far off from the core subject matter. Paddington when's the last time you went surfing? ON a surfboard, not on the internet.

 

Dude, Jersey's been rideable practically everyday. We've had aboot two waist + days per week. And June was friggin solid. I don't know what universe you're living in.

In the past 7 days I went out Saturday morning, Friday afternoon......and either that Wednesday or Monday..

Yeah multiple topics make the site suffer. Really Mfitz, look at these surf related topics. Most of them are inane or for complete novices who can't figure out their $500 3 mil they bought.

 

Actually forum life isn't that different than real life.

Yeah, some grow more balls as an anonymous figure. Remember, I've offered to hang out in person with anybody multiple times.

But in real life people have friends and aquantences in which al they do is get into conflicts and gossip aboot each other, just like people do on an internet forum. The world doesn't get along.

I just don't understand your beef with talking about surfing on a surfing forum. This is the place to have those type of discussions. There are other forums on the interweb that cater to your style of conversation, if this surfing thing doesn't appeal to you, maybe you should check one them sites out. It's big world out there, this isn't the only website in town, just sayin...
