Yes, anyone who wants to upload photos of a session or just to show how the surf was - right now the best way is just to sign up for your own surf report page: http://www.swellinfo.com/surfreport-signup.html There are some extensive plans to expand on the community oriented features, just will take some time to develop.
look, i'm not getting a rush of adrenaline looking at 1 foot closeouts (hyperbole anyone?), I just think if that's what the surf was doing on a particular day, I don't mind looking at a couple pics. It's a lot more informative than a low res-surf cam from 200yds away. I could see how its a really big waste of time to look at these if you are going one by one, but are you using the "Gallery" at all? I mean, cause then it wouldn't waste as much of your precious time to skip over those photos cause its like 15 thumbnails at a time. isn't this supposed to be a "community" surf website or something? I mean, if people want to post whatever crappy photos of surfing they have why stop them? Live and let live brother...
Aguaholic...I see in another thread you live 45secs from the beach...so i definitely understand why you could care less about seeing lame pics. I live 2.5 hrs from the beach...so i dont get to see the ocean everyday. I check the recent pictures on here everyday just to see whats happening...
lighten up hey i just read all this and have some thoughts on it. we are not all professional or have great equipment. my cam will not rapid shoot frames, so i get what i can for shots. i also admit to posting some lame shots. it is fun for me to get out and get some shots of you all (Ya'll for sussex co.) i have also learned from others on the forum and in person on the beach. lighten up, if you don't like what you see click past it, or drop some helpful hints (private mail). some of you have dropped me some hints and it has really helped me out. i may keep posting some bad shots too. just try to remember the first time you climbed on a board, was it a pretty sight. we are all not where you are, surfing or shooting. i was talking to a young guy on the beach the other day who was just blown away by the older guys surfing. he is also on swell. i took a few shots of him. what if someone said or did something to crush his or your spirit? sometimes the things we say can crush or hurt others, even when we are just being a jerk or goofin.
Brek, That must suck to live that far away from the ocean....I can't even start to imagine what that is like. But, I have a simple resolution to your problem...Start using web cams...You will be able to see whats going on day to day.
