I have a really good feeling about that day, so much that I took the friday before and monday after it off.
I've noticed that intentional or not, SI seems to overestimate swells 3-4 days before they're due to arrive. As the big day approaches the swell prediction gets smaller and smaller, and more and more red. Are they doing this on purpose to get us all excited, which ramps up forum activity??!! I'm up North, but my guess is that this weekend won't be much different than the last dozen or so. Keep the expectations low to avoid disappointment, and if a swell comes...YAY!
1) seldom is probably right with the 3-5' offshore bliss 2) If some of you emo/hipster-types found something to look forward to and believe in like completely fallacious and fleeting weekend forecasts you may smile once or twice during the week and not contemplate offing yourself and... C) It was a trick question to begin with since the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Saturdays in October will all be 8-10' with unpredictable wind gnarl and purely amazing opportunities for gift lessons to all your braws and brawndettes who gots their eye on da surf. Didn't ya hear the predictions? Fall 2013 will see the return of El Emassyo phenomenon to the water temps and winds of the North Atlantic. Grab on tight to something loose!
lee, the most crucial answers to our problems often arrive when we hear ourselves answer our own questions.
About 5 bdft of whatever I find on the scrap rack. Can of wasp killer. Who cares who painted it, looks cool. Not until after the next oil change. You're right Emass, I feel great now!
It is always good the 3rd Saturday in October. But not as epic as the fourth Thursday in November: Turkey, football, and mackin waves! Mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce. Wooooooooooooo!
