I was wrong, the real number is 97%. http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus Sorry man, there is just no way you can have a scam with 97% of the world climatologists involved. Most of the organizations posting reports are not even working for profit. There has even been research into the credibility of the scientists studying GCC. http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2010/06/04/1003187107.full.pdf We can deny it is happening, and we can deny that we didn't influence it, but that doesn't make it true.
Hundreds of years and still nobody has figured out the Earth, or why we're here. We will all find out one day when we die I suppose, what this was all about. Or not, maybe we'll all get to the end of the book and be left hanging like the end of Sopranos.
You bring up an interesting topic. http://www.npr.org/2013/08/08/210243967/swinging-co2-levels-show-the-earth-is-breathing-more-deeply We are flooding the environment with more CO2, and plants tend to be breathing more. The thing that researchers still don't understand is if the global environment will balance itself out from the excess CO2. Arctic vegetation is increasing and spreading, which leads to increased CO2 consumption. This could reduce the climate change effects from CO2 in the end. The real issue, at least in this country, is that so many uninformed people are in denial about our contributions to the climate fluctuations. They are losing sight of the real scam, which is the push for biofuels, hybrid vehicles, and other green products that don't really help the issue. There is an issue, but we don't have a good plan on how to correct it. We also don't know for sure that it won't correct itself.
im telling you...we're all apart of a super massive computer simulation. lots of physicists believe it's more likely then not based on the nature of running simulations. sim or not....it's real enough to me
The Earth is a complicated system, which has many influences. That is why so many people devote their lives to studying the system. Unfortunately, we are still on a steep part of the learning curve.
Sims, I like that one. Ever wake up from a dream and wonder if that sh*t was real or not because it was so vivid? Or ever wake up from a dream only to still be in a dream? These things I question, maybe the real world it's in our subconscious and this "real world" we're apart of is actually the dream? Things to think about....
so much C02 and Hs2 is locked up in permafrost. that's the scariest coming source to me. an interesting component of the rise in C02 is it's contribution to global dimming. in some areas 10% - 15%+ less sun is hitting the ground. the push for green products is necessary. they are evolving. it will get better in time. the only surefire solution is less breeding.
I believe it was beyond our understanding, which is why there has to be a creator. The creator is always greater than that of which it creates, which is why after HUNDREDS of years, we (humans) STILL have no idea, no matter how much research and science we learn, we'll NEVER have it all figured out. I admire those who dedicate their lives to trying to figure out the largest and most complex Rubik's Cube there ever was, but I think it's a futile endeavor in the end unfortunately. Do we (humans) come up with great theories and "scientific facts" along the way that may seem plausible, sure, but ultimately we are just as in the dark (or light, however you view it) as we ever were when it comes to the #1 question, What is this place and why are we here?
can get heavy to think about. i like to wonder if UFO or other unexplainable phenoms are a glitch in the sim. best to think about with Pink Floyd and a bong
hours? with a bong? nah...i give an hour tops before surf talk takes over. lol. surfing can always tie it all together.
HAHA, Well surfing always ends up being the topic in most my discussions eventually. When i'm out in the middle of the ocean and nobody is around I often ponder these very same discussions. It seems the more I'm in the ocean the great understanding I have of it all, but the more I seem to learn and know, the more I realize I really don't know.
I don't believe there is a single being as a creator, but I can side with the idea that there may be a single creator. I don't think researching to answer all the questions is futile. I think if we ever stop looking for answers, there is no reason for us to exist anymore.
OK, God or the gods can totally rip. I mean if the creator is greater than the created... Dude(s) can totally bust airs on 1.8 feet @ 8 seconds at high tide. If/when there is the 2nd coming of Christ, you better hope its not during a contect you're in...you just lost
I don't think our creator is a human being, but a being of some sort. Can't be human because the creator can not be equal to that of which it creates. And i'm not referring to human reproduction, i'm referring to the original creator. We as humans can create offspring but that wasn't possible until the original creator made humans. Who that creator is, is up to you to believe. I don't believe our purpose is to figure out why we're here, if that's the case, millions upon billions have failed in this search. I guess we'll all find out at the end won't we?
Or maybe we won't, and that will be part of the process. Once we accept failure, we achieve enlightenment for simply trying. This is way too deep for a SI conversation.
This is true, maybe we won't, which goes back to my Sopranos ending. I just hope there is more of a Sooby Doo ending and we get to pull the mask off of him / her / it and get an explanation.... "And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids"
I always liked the idea that we get this big flash of truth at the moment of our death, wishful thinking for sure, but still. Brew I find it comforting that you believe in a greater mind/creator. As PJB has stated, you're our resident scientist. I consider myself a man of science as well, just in a different way, so it's nice to see another scientific minded fellow with similar notions. I'm clearly not a man of organized faith, but I cannot subscribe to the Dawkinsonian/cosmic soup/random life emergence stuff.
