http://www.islesurfboards.com/ im thinkin about gettin a board from this site, a quad fin fish but idk is it a legit site ? anybody thats got any info its greatly appreciated
I really think. . . . . . you ought to get that way cool Coffee Table. It would hold like a demon with all those extra fins. Have you considered shipping costs from the west coast? They're sure to be no bargain.
the board is only like a 5'5 or a 5'7 so shippings like 65 bucks its not bad and idk i havent found a local shaper that sells board as cheap as like $365
Grom surfer -- where are you located? A local shaper maybe close in price once you add the shipping of the board from Cali. And you would get a custom board. I have a guy in OCMD if interested.
theyre crap I bought i 6'3 summer fish from them for my lil bros to abuse and they are glasses way to thin it dinged as soon as one of them stood up. It is a very good board, it is one of my favorites but it falls apart. i payed a total of about 325 for it. it you want a really cheap crappy board then go for it.
if I had $365 bucks to spend on a board, i'd buy a good used (preferably locally shaped) board that was designed for the waves in your area. I'd be surprised if you had to spend over $250 - $300 this time of year. Hit some surf shops and talk to local surfers - this time of year theyre not TOO busy selling clothing to tourists!
Not Ashton. Pete Arslanian -- a good bro of mine. Used to glass for Ashton back in the day; went to San Clemente and shaped there for a number of years; returned a year ago and just setup shop again. In fact, my new board that I picked up last Sunday is the first since his return... It's SICK -- big dood shortboard based on a T. Patterson blank...
boards? i don't want to bust your balls but it may come out that way when i tell you this. the company that you are looking at you know nothing about because they have no tradition for excellence. the fact that you asked this means you don't know much about boards. the fact that you don't know much about boards means you don't need a custom board because when the shaper asks you what works for you, what kind of rocker do you like, what fin set up, hard or soft rails, flat or round deck, blah blah, you are going to say, "i dont know?" thats ok...got me? im not trying to pick on you. i shape boards, buy boards and I have surfed 4ever, but I CANT tell you much about why i like my different shortboards (i am better with paddleboards) over another except that it works good or not. so, i go to the shop, i feel some boards, ask some questions and bye on an impulse. why you say? because you and I are not "slater or taj", we cant afford to be, and my money says you will never be ( i know i will not be). Buy A USED BOARD or 2 or 3 or 4.... there are so many good used boards at every surf shop i have ever been to. u can get 2 for the price of 1new. then, you have more oppurtunity to find out what you like to surf by trying different boards. Buy USED. Figure it all out and a couple years from now, go to a shaper with 2500 bucks and have them shape u a quiver from what you have collected (used boards) got me? cool.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but does spelling count on the Praxis exam that teachers have to take to become certified to teach under the NCLB act? Or did you give that a ''Bye?''
The Microsft Generation! HAHAHAH...I passed all my PRAXIS tests on my first try. I'm certified in every state, including PA/NJ that has the highest scores to match. Just finished my natioanl certification last year. And spelling is only on one of the requirments in the professional essay. I teach Art, so go figure. I never write nor liked to. I am a product of the Microsoft Generation! That means spell check always has my back. SWELLINFO, can you get me some spellcheck on this forum. They are busting my balls on here! Honestly, I never won the spelling B. The kids who did never sucked a pig dog through a vw sized tube either. Anyways, you got me! I am sitting here laughing at the bye-4-buy. woops!
Yep My friend and I just ordered boards from there, he got one of the anacapas and I got the Webber, both were only like $299. I wouldnt go with the long-boards from there simply because of shipping, its like $145, but $65 shipping for a a shortboard isnt bad. My board got to my house from Cali in like 5 business days, packed nicely, and it looks sick but we havent had the waves for it this week. The site is definitely legit. As for the isle boards, Ive never riden one, but Ive heard good things about them and seen someone riding one of the retro fish over summer. They seem to be pretty standard, awesome for the price.
The main dealer/ outlet for ISLE surfboards is Ebay, there's a ton on there... that should tell you something right there...
