Anarchists/Libertarians KNOW for CERTAIN that people can't get along...you dont or can't seem to realize however that when you have a coercive government like we have (and every other country in the world at the moment) only those people that you describe above (the power hungry, the violent, the greedy) will "rise to the top" take over power, then WRITE a bunch of laws to protect their positions and then enslave us all. The only way to limit power is to limit it. It's not that hard to grasp. If you're gonna have government that has the power to do whatever it wants (and if you've ever read the Constitution that's basically what it says, Congress has the power to do whatever it wants) , it will do whatever it wants. That's tyranny. anarchy is the only defense against this.

 

So If I may be allowed to sum up the arguments made by both "sides" they go like this...

One argument is pro-government, and relies on the notion that it's PRACTICAL to have government NO MATTER what the RESULTS of that Government or the moral implications of that Government is..

Actually BBG, you cite being enslaved by those who weild power. How are you "enslaved?" I don't like many of our laws, but I'm not enslaved. "enslave" is a rather harsh term I agree... a bit heavy...
ok I'll define slavery as the lack of freedom to do with your "property" what you will. i.e. taking 100% of the fruits of someones labor.

We are not there yet. but taking anything from 10% to 30-40% (case depending and it's been as high as 60%) of the fruits of someones labor via an INCOME TAX is getting there. cmon people. do you really buy this mumbo-jumbo about "taxes being voluntary"??? Yes we will agree with you all day that our current system is PRACTICAL and functional (esp when it comes to warfare and corporate welfare) . You've never answered how it is moral or justified in any other sense.

Again it is practical to put everyone who is currently unemployed to work via some govt program that forces everyone to go out and sweep the streets in front of their house. BUT is it MORAL to do so?

haha but dude you are funny. I've played in touring bands for 15 years. I've played alot of dives in PHilly...The Khyber, The Fire, Manhattan Room, KungFu Necktie ... I f$cking love that town. Love having to back your van up real close to the car behind you so your gear can't get (so easily) stolen out the back window while you crash on the floor of the opening bands garage somewhere off in Fishtown... sweet place. Mostly Real sweet people too.

 

this forum is pretty funny.i never thought id see obummercare go to 24pages,bravo.our country is messed up,butt its still better than every other country.our gov is closed,but they are still passing bills to pay the workers who are on temporary leave.am i the only one who thinks wtf?!!iv been stuck in jersey too long and i think jersey sucks,just my opinion.where i live sucks.the cops suck.the laws suck.ted cruz sucks.the people in charge of the american budget,where we can spend 6billion a month on war,but cant pay somebodies medical bills or not shut down.a few months ago we were ready to bomb syria,wtf happened?we had money for 2.5million dollar cruise missiles,but now the gov is on lockdown because republicans dont want affordable healthcare.i just want to live somewhere where i can smoke my pot in peace,surf without crowds or army dix of engineers messing with the sand.i dont ask for much,taking the sandbars away is a kick in the nutz.its like going to smoke a joint and the stores no longer carry e z widers or dutches.we got the boards,got the beaches,but no damn sandbars.i honestly want to move to france.i thought about mexico but its dangerous,and i like being around white people.it would be nice to own a home in mexico where i can go stay for a few weeks out of the year.go look up the real estate near puerto escondido,its incredible.for a peice of shyt trailer of a home youd get in nj,for that same price youll have a big 3 story house on a mountain with an inground pool overlooking the ocean for around 250k.thats a fukin deal,but i dont want to live permanently in mexico.france on the other hand,they have great waves,hot girls,beautiful landscape and archeticture,and america isnt going to invade them.u go move to a place like bali,who america claims is an al queda hotspot,even tho i never seen it,but i never been there,and u can get blown up by a drone.also i wouldnt want to live in asia,i like being with my own kind.if we were still in the 1980s id move to hawaii.i hate being in a crowded town.i just want to live near the beach with a neighbor thats 3 miles away and its me,my girls,and my dogs.thats my american dream
