I told you. Place a limit on number of kids per person, go beyond that limit and get snipped. Moral authority not needed. I said from the beginning there would be loopholes. The solution to population excess is simple, the laws that govern this in a way that seems fair will be more complicated. The only reason it can be complicated is due to these so called "morals" people love to talk about. We are morally above sterilization as punishment for abusing the reproductive process, but not morally above killing and wars.

Sorry Brew, I can't agree with you on the sterilization thing but I don't want you to off yourself either.

I think what our generation(s) are experiencing is a large scale paradigm shift and usually those are tough to swallow. The rest of the world is catching up with the West and exploiting the "low-hanging fruit" resources. It was never really specified in the thread what resources we're running out of but the two that we really could run out of or destroy are oil and clean water. There are innumerable food sources in this world just waiting to be cultivated, they may just have more legs than we're accustomed to eating. Great protein though. Small fishes, seaweeds, algaes, and all kinds of foods are out there too if you're not into eating bugs. Tuna may not be around for too much longer though so get while the getting is good.

That takes me back to oil. It probably won't be around for too much longer either. We're currently getting because the getting is good. The problem is the rest of the developing world is getting too. Even at our current burn rate, the oil stocks will last the rest of our lifetime's and probably our kid's lives too. Even so, our technologies are becoming better and we're becoming much more efficient as the days go on to the point where oil may not be critical to our way of life anymore. Clean water is a much more critcal resource. Most adults can go weeks with out food but can't go more than a couple days without water.

A solar car and a plate full of bugs with a side of algae goo is much easier to swallow with a nice clear cup of water. Maybe we should look at other options before we go algaezeera on my balls or my wife's ovaries.
