First off There is only one economy..that is loosely defined as the sum total of all the VOLUNTARY economic interactions that go on in some pre-defined area. In order for Government to fund anything it has to siphon off parts of that economic stream to be put to some centrally planned use. So you honestly believe all the things that you mentioned above would not have been invented without Government first siphoning off 50-60% of the nations wealth to funnel it through it's preferred contractors? Sure we have alot more gadgets these days, which are made in China... see how that works? Government creates unhealthy business climates (by burdensome taxes, picking favorites/preferred contractors etc) , jobs flee to overseas competitors ..our Government prints more money so we can have the "pretend wealth" to buy these goodies back from China. Scuse me? our standard of living? You must not understand how inflation works. Our standard of living is falling fast. this is a shell game.
We need massive education incentives and job creation for the lower and lower middle class people. Technology has eliminated a lot of those jobs and the private sector has moved the rest to other countries. Trust me, I'm all for less government intrusion but who else is gonna create these type of jobs? In the meantime, our infrastructure is collapsing and could use a major overhaul. A green-conscious overhaul that could create tons of jobs not just to rebuild but maintain. Doesn't have to be the Feds, it could be done by state and local as well.
You can't get anymore local than private individuals organizing themselves. Just like the Soviets learned, you can have a healthy state apparatus (which is what the bank bailouts and debt ceiling showdowns were all about) or you can have a good economy that works for everyone. You can't have both.
So the same Dept of Education and govt schools that created all the HS drop-outs that can't get a job bc they are untrained or untrainable will be responsible for training these same HS drop-outs?
A lot of these problems are caused by gvt being to big and inefficient (and easy to steal from via no bid contracts and the like) so the answer to these gvt created problems is not more gvt, another solution would work better we are better than this, we dont need an outside power broker to fix this
back to our regularly scheduled program: Everywhere I've ever been stationed in the CG, I've had surf delaware, Petaluma, Hampton Roads and Jacksonville. I guess that isn't a true statement, Key West had no surf, but the boat took me all over the carib and I surfed the islands. Someone above posted Dam Neck and that was my home break for about ten years. Now Mayport is mine and just south of the poles is uber nazi cool guy aggro surfers for dummies class... 100 yards north on the base and its a desert.
Ahh babygrand...I don't the energy to combat your crazy. ^ Mayport's nice for sure...think I'll get some now
