The guy in your videos was not lean and mean. Maybe that was a stunt actor?

Seriously guys, a very strong physique is good for these winter swells. When you wear those mitten gloves which are wicked warm they also wear out your muscle endurance pretty fast, so I compensate for the increased paddle thrust with more horse power. It makes sense. I'm training for winter boys.

I don't post pictures or videos of myself to try and impress men.

^^^As long as I don't have to bench-off for them, I'm not as strong as I used to be...weight strong at least.

Body strong is good but it's all about mind strength really. Gotta have a solid mind to hold the nerves when things get heavy in the surf zone. Panic is death usually. You guys ever loose your leash and been floating helplessly in the rip while overhead sets approach rapidly ?

That was the type of strength I was referring to, and that I have sir(been in the situation you described-not saying I have Jedi mind strength).

Walrus or not, you dudes gotta admit that Chuck's hands are deadly FAST. I wouldn't mess with him. Consider how many paddles per second he can get with arm speed like that. I can't speak for what happens once he's actually standing on the board, but he could be the best paddler in the water on any given day.

Aahh mad atom ! My Maine man. I'm glad someone has appreciated my hand speed. Arm speed is everything ! Fast twitch muscle fibers exploding with energy.

Guys surfing is anaerobic for sure. Quick bursts of energy to catch the wave, then relax and cruise.

Didn't you learn from watching The North Shore sixty times that "shredding" is against everything that true surfing is about? Be kind to the waves, man.

Yeah Roy has taught me allot about surfing actually. He's a living book of knowledge for surfing. If I were you I'd learn to respect him more.
