If you're dumb enough to vote then you're dumb enough to believe them -propagandhi and who said this: The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater
Imagine if the general population could simply vote on things they wanted and didn't want, without any corporate or government influence.
pumpmaster, that would be democracy, which is mob rule, that's why FF went republic. but we are blowing it.....'here is a republic...if you can keep it' Also, if you DONT VOTE then you CAN COMPLAIN....I didnt vote these dbags into power, you f*ckers did George Carlin explains it best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIraCchPDhk the vid is the prefect length for watching
can just as easily be written... "voters always blow it because they vote themselves stuff at the expense of other voters."
Anarchy wouldn't allow that..bc there would be no redistributive government that can do the redistributing on voters behalf... "Government" would only be in the business of protecting property (your body, your physical property) any "law" would have to meet the Non-aggression principle . http://archive.lewrockwell.com/block/block26.html
Republic? A confederation of States with autonomy? Lincoln put a bullet thru the head of that idea...but he wasn't the first Imperialist... and yet a century and some change later we still talk about being a Republic. We are a Corporatist Empire now. Your "vote" just offers political cover for the most evil policies that have ever been enacted in the name of "Democracy"
Where does Mills fall into w/ all this political philosophy stuff?...I remember reading On Liberty and it was pretty similar to that Non-aggression principle, in the overall message anyway.
Oh yea? "Corporations are people too..." kinda sums it up nicely I thought...(thanks to Mitt!--but Obama believes that too)
