who cares if private business such as corporations are inefficient... it only hurts themselves in a free market. they have direct stake in being efficient to compete/offer products and services for the best consumer value amongst other businesses in the same market. inefficiencies in government (i am not even going to start with this list) come out of the pockets of taxpayers and all of those in the private sector.

 

If you think about, when the private sector pisses away money, spending recklessly it drives other sectors of the economy. I worked for corporate giant, ITT before I went back to school to be a lowly HS teacher, and boy, could they blow large sums of money! But while doing so they helped the hotel, travel industry and a slew of other businesses.

 

and private industry is beholden to stockholders.
