Wednesday of this week looks impressive from the reports. Well overhead on OBX and even SENC will get head high waves. I'm sure glad I'm not responsible for cooking any of the T-day chow this year bc it looks like I'll be out battling the 20+mph offshores all day the day before! Who else is planning on getting some?

The VERY reliable forecasts are calling for 6-9ft here. Using extrapolation we can conclude that Joizy is getting 64 footers. I'll be out getting WORKED Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, then applying ice to my body Fri-Sunday. Should be a GREAT holiday.

My current tentative plan is to drive the 1.5ish hours to Second Beach/Newport Thursday AM super early dawn patrol (sorry for blowing up the spot, if there are 300 surfers there instead of the usual 200 it's my fault), finish by ~11am so's I can get back to this super nice lady I've been dating-ish's house for vegan thanksgiving, then hit Good Harbor in Gloucester Friday... we'll see how the forecasts actually work out tomorrow/Wed though.

Maybe also a Wednesday PM session if it is firing + I have the afternoon off...

I'm still a bit skeptical. I think there's going to be a lot of water moving around so I'm not so sure that there will be perfect barrels in OBX. Hoping for the best though and will be standing by for that glorious window.

If these conditions hold up Carolina Beach might end up looking alot like it looked the day after Sandy  ! Those drop-ins were like jumping down a waterfall!

You could be jinxing the forecast with these postings. However, I failed to test this hypothesis over the summer. My plan was to post all kinds of "let's get excited about the swell" messages hoping that I would jinx the flat forecasts and we'd get some waves. I'm convinced the jinx works both ways.

Gonna Be rainy and WINDY! I hope I can get out though. I'll be out for sure Thursday. There. I fixed the jinx; it will be great Wednesday for CB because my wife will have to work and I'll have to wait for her and won't be able to get out until after dark. Thursday through Sunday? flat as a pancake.

Going the opposite way. Florida bound. Not going to be as big or fun but I need some warm water and weather. Wed and Friday morning are looking fun

Yea the potential 30mph wind may make it a little sketchy further south but damnmit if I could get standup barrels.... Hope the forecast holds. Been checking 10 times a day haha. Hope everybody scores!!!

Its been my experience that the forecast for cleanup usually gets delayed 12-24 hours as the fronts seem to slow down when they hit the coast. plan accordingly for either/both wednesday/Thursday swell

and some of my best memories of EC surfing is surfing turkey day till exhaustion >> eating to coma >>watching cowboys lose. little things make life worthwhile

Hush now don't you know The Cowboys are Americas team! The Cowboys! I believe this because that's what we were told in the early 80s. America had a team and that team was the Cowboys. Oh and that our country was special. All thanks to Reagan. I paid attention in school, all 5 of them, counting Sunday School.

Grom brah, I ain't no local and I might be in Rhodey on Thurs AM til Noon then getting to my sister's in MA in time for dinner in the afternoon. Won't know where I charge for another 36+ hours. Long way to go in the lab until then watching these charts. Yeah, that is STOKE that's powering my vehicle to go interstate to charge a holiday swell.
