Early Xmas presents this year in the form of waves!

Though the best of this weeks swell is going north of us (happy holidays yanks!) Next week I can guarantee we will be the ones in the spotlight! Especially if you live in South Florida. Looks like the best of the swell is striking hard south of Cocoa.

As of right now Sebastian Inlet is calling for 7' - 11' swell with three full stars on Magic Seaweed. (No offense swell info its just one of my sources in intelligent gathering) Friday shows a hair smaller but the winds should be a little better.

With that being said, for those that have never been down south (Sebastian) the water usually stays a solid 8 - 10 degrees warmer then New Smyrna/Daytona so wetsuits shouldn't be a factor. Another little secret for those who have never surfed down there.... Sebastian has a killer campground on both sides of the Inlet! Just about every campsite is on the water so you can have a campfire while fishing all night then wake up for dawn patrol (or just don't go to sleep) and walk the short distance to the jetty! Its probably going to be insanely crowded but I'll be right in the middle of the action making up for the summer!

On a sidenote..... when Sebastian gets swells like this it usually produces some really thick open barrels due to the reverb and shorebreak action. Also the other side, inside the inlet (Monster hole) usually breaks pretty good too!

We should have the SI reunion there...it wouldn't even be a far drive for Wayne.

Christmas posts, got to like them. Only reason I opened it up and look was able to respond. I think you spelled Christmas wrong. May be easier to say Happy Birthday Jesus.

Christmas is not Jesus' birthday... it comes from paganism. So does Easter, Halloween.. even the days of the week for that matter haha

That is correct. December 25 is most likely not the day of His incarnation (birth). From what is gathered from historical and biblical data, it likely points to a fall birthday, perhaps September or October. The exact day is unknown.

Nevertheless, 12/25 is the day selected to acknowledge this epic event. Those that believe would be better served (& serve) if they acknowledged it daily, as it would remind & encourage them to live in the Spirit of His Aloha and live out His grace.

Hey FLsurfdog, we had a blast yesterday, Wenesday, morning at the inlet. The front stalled and there was barely a west breeze until about 10:30. We got to see our very first rainbow superimposed on the water and moving across the surface of the water about northward. It was a real treat :) did you get to get out there?

No man crush on Sebastian, but whatever floats your boat. I'm sure there's a forum for that.

Actually most of the time Sebastian is overrated. It gets waves but it also gets wind. Sebastian seems to sit right at the line where the fronts stop or stall out and it creates a wind corridor right there.

The nice thing about Sebastian though is its not a far drive for anybody from Florida and the water typically stays quite warmer there. It holds a minimal swell and most breaks south of there really need a good swell to break.

When its on though you can't beat the spot! Fishin and surfin all weekend with no wetsuits!

Yes "they" selected 12/25 to acknowledge his birth... the same day/ time of year that Romans had their solstice and worshiped their "gods". The teachings of Christ are invaluable, but everything that has to do with his name has been tarnished and ruined by the wicked spirits of this world. True Christians are not even supposed to celebrate any of these "holidays", the only day they should be celebrating is the passover or memorial, thats what is says in the word.. Sorry if I come off snobby Im on LI and the west wind is killing this swell for us :(

So glad you got some fun :) nah, worked Tuesday or would've def been there. Yeah it's funny how quickly that wind picked up later in the morning. We ignored the reports that there were 20-30 mph winds for early a.m.and was rewarded with that nice window of opportunity. my friend was pleased she could try out her new longboard too .

No worries man .. I should have put a "they" in quotes. There definitely are issues with what the "institutions" have done to obfuscate things. But it is what it is. Nevertheless us crazy diamonds must shine on. Peace.
