Has anyone else noticed it's getting a little wierd on here. I know it must go through cycles but it seems a little out there. I have read a lot but not posted much lately. Any ideas?

no you are right. it has gotten really weird here.... I'd say it reached a new height of kooky-ness around the time of the boston terrorrists chase... lots of tinfoil hats showed up and lots of roy stewart and lots of turdvolution (btw what happened to that guy?) and all sorts of static.

This forum has very little to do with surfing. One guy will post a question of relevance and then a few posters will hijack it with negativity, sarcasm and pointless philosophical dribble.

At least I know I'm not the only one that's noticed.

We should definitely hash this out. It's good to see advice and reassurances going back and forth, especially as the holiday season is upon us.

On the topic of weirdness, have you noticed how touchy some people have been regarding the naming of spots in threads read by hundreds if not thousands of eager beginners and a burgeoning (and curious) collegiate crowd, who look to acquire healthy amounts of information in the safety of their homes before appearing at said breaks with an air of confidence and wisdom?

Seriously, though, what should this forum be about? Meeting at secret spots to help each other zip up winter wetsuits and tuck gloves into sleeves? (It is nice to have someone tuck your gloves in once in a while.)

Gotta have a little bit of the bitter to truly appreciate the sweet. Or something like that... Look, there are some solid threads that happen on here from time to time. If you're new here it may seem clickish or w/e but hang out long enough and you'll "get it". I use the "shopping cart method" by only participating on threads that interest me, all others I just don't click into or stay long if I do. Having some weirdos around keeps things interesting, so try and enjoy the comedic relief. If it still seems weird, maybe check out Swaylocks or something for a forum that sticks more to the topic of surfing. But overall there are some good nuggets of info to be had here if you can sift through the BS

That's usually what I do too Sup. Guess I got sucked in. Read the one about multiple accounts and then saw the hopi indian thing and I thought, dang its getting wierd. But don't get me wrong. I love this forum. Damn funny and informative.

Yeah man, it almost seems like at times theres good knowledge to be shared and then it seems like people are putting down other people to make themselves look or feel good.
I'd almost bet that a large percentage of folks that are on here only surf as much as I do but they make it seem like they surf all the time. Idk but I came here for the laughs and a little knowledge.
