I dunno, but it isn't my occupation. Even with my salary being a fraction of that, I have no problem with poor people getting help.

Me! No not really. I don't know, the prez makes $192 per hour but it's not him. Maybe Kelly Slater or perhaps Roy?

Anyone making that much deserves to be pissed about useless handouts, because they earned an additional 60% taken away from them by state and fed. All while trying to stay in business or provide employees (an interesting factor) with raises. Heck, I'm pissed about government handouts and I only have aboht a 1/4 of my pay taken out lol.

people makin that much are most definitely NOT paying the same % of taxes as us regular workin class joes. They get the tax breaks, and the kick backs.

Good luck trying to get the IRS (or any govt program) to "fix" that problem.

Obviously they're good at what they do... My best friend charges $250/hr and does plenty of what Liberals choose to call in their nebulous vernacular--GIVING BACK. If he wasn't good enough at what he does to charge that much people wouldn't pay it...(there's a lesson in here for you Chicharrone, aka, Chitlin)

leetymike.... you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

rcarter: I think Slade averages over $1,000/hr if not much, much more.

Lol thanks erock and poseidon... i was going to say. The top 15% pays like 40% of federal taxes while trying to compete in the global economy and hire poeple at the bottom w work ethic like some of us. Did you guys know that something like half the country pay no fed taxes!?

That percentage thing has always drove me crazy. That's why I'm for a flat tax. It p!sses me off when the government wants a higher percentage of someone's money because they earned more. And then liberals cry because some one in the 38% tax bracket only pays 20% because they have deductions, and often times the charitable deduction is 10 times more than my total tax. If somebody pays $150,000 in taxes and I pay $5000 in taxes and we get the same services how is that fair? Ans I'm a SCHOOL TEACHER! Keep paying your taxes. Thanks... While I'm on this rant... I GUARANTEE the students whose parents pay little to no taxes are the ones that require and receive the most "subsidies" and "attention" from the faculty and staff. End rant...

Of course they do. That's what happens when you also control most of the $$$. The rich in this country pay a correct portion of taxes for the amount they make. I am not poor, and I do pay a fair amount. I have no problem with this amount slightly increasing with my salary. The tax system is quite fair right now, and our taxes are way better than most of the global powers.

Actually it's $175,000 for 126 days. that's what we're paying our congress person. that's just pocket change for them. the 1% pay their real salary.

and if the top 15% doesn't pay their fed taxes, then the irs is going to hunt them down and chop off their nads. they won't even bother chasing down the people that won't be able to dish out the dough. but they will keep handing out the freebies and whipping up the controversies about how the working class and above need to be taxed more.

hey nsa/obama (i know you're reading :D) - i can't get a job because i don't have a car to get there. can i get one of those for free too?

this nation 20 years ago would have told you to start walking.

I refuse to believe people makin that kinda money on a daily basis dont have good accountants that cant find a few loop holes to drastically alter the amount of taxes being paid. And hey maybe im wrong with the amount that has to be made to get the loopholes but i have been around long enough to know the rich (not just wealthy) that own the big businesses aren't paying their share of taxes.

They pay more than their fare share. They pay the majority as I pointed out.

Brew - at your second sentence: they earn the most money, and the majority of what they earn is taken away. Almost the opposite of control.

You didn't even look at a single graph posted. Max income tax for the wealthy is 35%, which is only 10% more than my bracket, yet they make more that 500% of my salary range. The data shows that even at 35% income tax (no where near a majority of there salary as you claim), their total average tax payment is under 30%. The current tax system is more than fair for all salary levels. I am not for increasing taxes on the rich, but I will never agree that they should be lowered. I have wealthy friends. They are in they 35% bracket, yet do not complain about excessive taxes. Sure, they would like to keep more of the income, but they are not hurting due to taxation.

    Brew,
You are a smart man. This is a serious question. What do your rich friends get for their tax dollars? I KNOW that the people who pay the least percentage or little to no taxes in my area get the most benefits. If some one pays a million dollars in taxes, what do they get? Even if it's only 35% of their income, how is this fair. I will never make more than $60,000 with the 3 BAs (Communications/Theater, English, Education) I have, so I'm not a rich guy rallying to lower taxes, but I think if everybody had some skin in the game, that would be fair.
