IIRC, the last thread about what one should do with one's life turned into a complete chittshow as well. This one's just missing Emass. Did that dude get eaten by SoCal or something?

This is the greatest thing on the internet.....this site that is...I love you guys.......every single one of youse....well maybe there's a few exceptions......but overall you guys are the best.

Rock of E, Spicoli has deemed this site inferior as it doesn't help him become a better surfer and it has taken up too much of his time. It's too labor intensive........

You better find out something important that your Grandfather did. If he wasn't in World War Two, trapsing around, murdering and ensuring U.S. dominance for the coming decades, you have nothing to be proud of. Unless, perhaps, your father was a self made man...

You know, the type who made all that money on his own initiative. Sure, maybe Grandpa McHero made sure he had a stable upbringing & food on the table. But Daddy had to fight through the plethora of high paying, low skill jobs with guaranteed pensions and affordable health bebefits. These were the difficulties that the generations faced after World War Two.

And don't forget about the horrors that the next generation of children faced.... All those hard-knock 80's and 90's boys who never had the good fortune of being drafted in a big honorable war that would guarantee them a legacy of glory. Nope... The generation before you never had that luxury. If they didn't have to battle through the excesses and cocaine of the 80's, then they had to fight through the economic prosperity of the 90's.

I hope you're listening, young man. Your pathetic generation needs to stop complaining and thinking about themselves... take a good look in the mirror, and ask yourself what kind of man you want to be.

Hopefully, you can continue the work of generations past, and continue to screw up the economy, destroy education, and soil the earth. Cause that's what real men do. Who knows, work hard and you may even end up being a pro durfer.

 

And there was such a man, his name was John Brown...he was an abolitionist, who believed that "armed insurrection was the only way to overthrow the institution of slavery"(Wikipedia). Hey, if you got one good piece of advise during Swellinfo's 127th Civil War ("has to happen every 5 days or so....ten days maybe....it clears out all of the bad blood" (Clemenza)......then you made out ok. Take it for what it's worth.

Go back to school, and make the most of it. Surf a lot. Hey, education is never wasted. Even if you don't use it to earn a living, you can impress your friends when watching Jeopardy.........

Don't get too bent aboot life at your age.....be reckless and carefree. They'll be plenty of time to play adult later on. Yo, pssss, come here.......here's a little secret, you're considered a pup in the workforce until your 30.....24 or 28 you're still looked at the same.....

ANd unless you're going to law school or medical school, don't get bent aboot your GPA......just keep it above 2.0............A degree is a degree. A 2.0 is the same as a 3.9.......unless you're going to law school or medical school. 99.9% of employers will never find out, nor ax, what your GPA was. If they do just lie.

Again yet another thing the teens to 20 something generation has messed up views on. Why is the USA being the greatest country in the world a bad thing all of a sudden? This idea that being the best is bad is what is leading America to no longer be the super power we once were, to no longer produce anything but psychological BS babble that everyone is equal, what a load os sh!t, and to have a generation of soft little wussies that think fighting for your country is something that should be protested. In this world people are not equal and while race should not matter for equality class sure as hell does.

Im in college and if u go to the right school and use ur time wisely and can get up early u will surf the most you ever will in ur life. I always try to pinch myself every time im getting tubes some random Wednesday afternoon.

 

Yep America has lost some of what made us great. But I agree we are on a surf forum and I have rambled too long about the youth of today so I will bid this thread adieu.

 

College just procrastinates the dark future that is the end of our surf time. DO U WANT TIME OR MONEY? Rare to have both.
