Instead of believing everything the liberal media shoves down your throat, try doing your own research to form an opinion. Do a search on Dr. Noah Robinson, "global cooling", "An Inconvenient Lie" or "The Global Warming Myth". Draw your own conclusions based on the work of scientists, don't base them solely on what Leonardo DiCaprio and Al Gore say. Its OK to have your own thoughts and not go with the current wave of liberalisim just because its popular.

    great idea!!

Funny how a thread originally started about a 306knt wind speed ends up as a political debate.

I do have one more thought though............how about we change the name of the country to "United Socialist States of America" USSA for short, and redesign the flag to look similar to the old Soviet Union flag. Instead of Obama being called The President, we can rename the position to Czar. We probably can find some old leftover flags over there real cheap seeing as the budget deficit is so high................oh yea, I forgot, that experiment already failed several times, damn..............

wow - arrogant point of view. If you disagree with me, you must be brainwashed by Hollywood or the liberal media.

That "scientist's" online petition is a joke. It asks you to check a box saying you're a scientist who disagrees that human COs emissions are harmful and then says 31,000 scientists have signed the petition.

cool, you complain about conservatives saying liberals are brainwashed then you go to to state that a position you don't agree with is a 'joke'.

Are we not running as a socialist country right now? I mean, the government did just give billions of our dollars away to "save" corporations. Anyway, there is a saying and it goes: The United States works as a capatilist run country in good times and as a Socialist run country in bad.

I am done on this topic the country is **** and the world is going to hell. On a better note: The winds are crazy and so is the surf in my part of town. Waiting for the clean up. Cya!

With all that's currently going wrong in the world, and what you're worried about is your guns. Lest we forget too soon, the neo-cons had their chance over the past 8 years and they did one heck of a job. Just like ''Brownie'' did with FEMA.

And while we're on the subject of ''windy'' socialism, if it weren't for all of us together, we wouldn't have roads to drive to the surf on, or jetties to surf beside, or schools to educate us , or fire trucks to save our houses, or hospitals to fix us when we are broken. Yes, some of them are privatized, but lots of things we take for granted have been fostered by our collective tax dollars and socially conscious citizens. . . and if that's socialism, then I don't mind being a socialist. The ''ME'' generation is over; it's now us, not me vs. you.

And why aren't we hearing more about the disaster in Galveston Beach? http://www.bushclintoncoastalfund.org/ Send money today, like I did. Yeah, I know, I'm a real liberal sucker for a sad story, but somebody's got to care. :)

By the way, it's spelled ''Ritalin.'' And as with anything, if you don't like it. . . don't read it.

I spent 7.5 years in a climate program, and yes, there is a lot of evidence to support human influenced climate change. And Yes, we are talking about human induced change with regards to increasing the fossil fuels in the atmosphere, and not just normal warming/cooling cycles and fluxuations. There is no debate in the fact that atmospheric fossil fuels have increased exponentially since the industrial revolution, and mostly so, in the last 50 years. The only real debate is that is whether the fossil fuel increase is leading to a global warming. The VAST majority of climate scientists agree there is a great deal of evidence to support human induced global warming. And, that there has been a marked global temperature increase in the last several decades that is directly linked to this increase in fossil fuels.

In my opinion, there is not enough focus in government to pull away from oil/gas consumption for this reason alone. It seems that over the past several years, conservatives and liberals alike can agree that we need to advance the Green movement. The earths climate requires a long term vision, not just a everything is ok now vision.

PS. I think Swellinfo should start getting into selling ridilin... there is a lot of A.D.D. with regards to staying on subject!!
