Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone has tried any of Laird Hamilton's supplements "TRUition". Worth the money? It is expensive but I am done taking the poison they sell at GNC. If there is another thread please post it for me, http://lairdhamilton.com/collections/supplements Thanks
Now that sir, is the most qualitative and quantitative statement I've ever heard. Thanks for your deep intellectual input. I will use as a suppository as soon as I have the time.
the same cannot be said for one's noggin, but sadly people persist in attempting to do so. (not yourself, mr. zagaffer, but many others).
Yeah, not sold on the whole supplement thing. I did creatine for a couple months when I was a wee lad and I definitely got stronger and bigger, but the long-term is unknown. Whey protein did nothing, and worse yet, it's animal-based. Here's my theory on supplements: the better they "work", the worse they are for your long-term health. Eat lots of fruits, veggies, beans, nuts and whole grain and you'll get all the vitamins and protein that you need. Plus, you'll be very "regular".
Thanks man, I never really thought about the long term effects. Good advice on eating better. I just like my food cooked and I was reading where cooked veggies don't do anything for you. only raw ones. either way I probably won't buy the products because of money but i was just curious if anyone had tried them or anything similar to them.
Ah, the old raw vs cooked debate. I'm not all-knowing on this subject, but raw is best. Vitamin C is destroyed during the cooking process, but other than that most other great vitamins stay perfectly well in-tact. Fiber certainly does. Cooked veggies are still really great for you
If you need protein chocolate milk has almost as much effect as a shake but tastes better and costs less. As a former college athlete I used to use all kinds of supps. That said I agree with the above. Eating good food is more effective. Surfing and diet have me more fit than I was back then.
Laird's book was good, and had recipes for meals and a shake he makes every morning. Had good stuff in it, not so much supplements but convenient "powders" of 20 helpings of greens and 15 servings of fruits made from organics and what not. The Neuro 53 stuff had enzymes and protein for your brain. So I bought in. Drank one every day for a month. Felt awesome! GAINED 10 POUNDS. He never said you had to have a 6000 calorie exercise program after each shake... Now I Nutrabullet. Still feel great, WAY easier and WAY WAY better for you. Thing grinds anything, veggie, fruit, anything into a tasty shake. LOST the 10 pounds.
I don't buy that supplements are worthless (just because one, very poorly thoughout study suggests so), but I also don't buy nutrition products from athletes whoring themselves.
