I call foul. WNBA just added a thread touting some random musician. Threads like that, to me, wreak of spammage. My definition of spam is using the forum to promote something for your own benefit (financial or other).

The only post on that thread was from dian11. WNBA and dian are both new members currently with 3 posts. They're either the same person or in cahoots. Come clean, guys.

I try to report blatant spam quickly, so I suggest everyone do the same.

    Yup, same here.

Hey Mr. Swellinfo, if you ever need to hire a full time mod I'm your guy. It would be a realization of the Confucian work adage.

I would vote for Seldom being a moderator as well!

Always on patrol with that yardstick ready to discipline.

Does it really need to be "reported"? Like, "hey Swell Info admin brah, it's 8am and just wanted to let you know that 5 threads have new posts this morning and 3 of them are certain spam. Just thought you should know, in case you look at your forum and can't tell." Frank, I know you had a good time. The whole town knows you had a good time!

I vote for keeping the spam posts. They result in some hilarious threads. Are some of you guys that stuck to routine?

It does need to be reported. It cost money to run a forum. Spammers are using the forums as free advertising, since the forum can be found on google and posts are visible to the public. The moderator doesn't read every thread, nor is he always on here. I moderated a car forum long ago. When someone reported a thread, I got an email. So I knew I needed to log onto the forum and delete the spam. The more you allow spam, the more spam the forum gets, and in the end you have a forum full of spam. That ruins the attractiveness of the forum to potential real advertisers, which ends the input of money. No money = no forum.

Forumphile? No, just did the moderator thing on one forum. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how internet sites like this function.
I smile every morning I wake up in the south. It is the feeling that I don't have to dig my car out of snow that just makes me happy. :p
