This is a serious post, but I'm sure it won't stay that way for long. I've learned a little something about fins. I've learned a little bit about wooden surf board design. I've learned a little bit about board repair. I've gotten some good information about other surf web sites. (Surf Simply) I've gotten some good information about catching Blue Crabs. (Thanks Erock) I've gotten some good titles of surf related books. (I'm reading Hunter S. Thompson's Generation of Swine right now thanks to Yankee's quote.) I've actually gotten some PMs about breaks I wasn't aware of. I learned a little about beach replenishment. I even get a little political insight from some of you characters. Anyhow, thanks to the majority of you. I'll be at the Fat P tonight and ***** tomorrow. **** isn't a bad word. I was going to say what break I'll be surfing, but that's bad JuJu... Peace!
dl and screwby...how many times have you tripped on that jacked up floor and almost faceplanted? be honest now...I only do it when I'm sober, after a few things just seem to smooth out.
A bunch. If you fall against a wall you'll probably go right through it! I think the graffiti is one of the main structural supports!
I think you're absolutely right. I bet there's a few decorative items that are like lynch pins or keystones. Move a pic and the whole place falls down. Love that place.
I've learned that everything comes full circle, and that today's youth surf culture is both as core and as soulful as it's ever been, if you look in the right places.
i learned Belmar is the place to be!! I learned theres no such thing as closeouts and currents I learned that Belmar has an artificial reef and 23 foot waves daily I learned a lot about jesus I learned that California and Hawaii suck
Here are some: Prescription eye wear options for surfing. Ear protection for surfing in cold water. Surfing fitness workouts. Wetsuit and surfboard selection, construction, and other considerations. Transitioning from a longer to a shorter board. How to get out of a surfing slump. Beach sand replenishment projects. Swells, waves and currents. Coastal impacts of TS Sandy. White shark tracking. Proper and improper surf etiquette. Substance abuse issues. Book and music recommendations. Some entertaining vids: Devil Baby Attack, the ExLax seagulls prank, and Barbarossa attack of Trestles were good ones. This forum provides the opportunity to discuss surfing (and other matters) with other surfers with a wide range of experience. Outside the Forum, the opportunities to do this are usually limited. A lot of the time I surf alone, not necessarily because I want to; it just tends to work out that way. I can't really talk to my wife about surfing; she doesn't understand it. No one at work surfs. I'm considered an oddity for starting surfing 16 months ago at the age of 57, and nutty for going out in the water during the winter. So thanks guys, for the discussions, information and, of course, the entertainment.
All of the above. And I honestly enjoy the 'conversations' on here surf and non-surf related. Talking with the half dead masses in real life is quite the bore.
I learned that people who threaten and then leave the forum as if anyone cares always come back except for MATT JOHNSON. I also learned that you have to go check it all the time instead of sitting in a house looking at forecasts and cams. I also learned through the postings of the worst person ever on the forum sonfollowersurf that a lot of people already thought Christianity and Christians are the worst things in the history of the planet, which wayne, one of many antichrists is justifying. I also learned that hate and hypocrisy are not always recognized because we and that means me,too, fail to look at ourselves in the mirror. mostly I learned that i found myself grateful to micah and swellinfo for establishing the most incredibly awesome surf forum ever, and that includes most of you also, my surfing brothers.
I learned all about pooing in the lineup. I learned about shoting piers and banging hindus (thank god for the Shredmiester). Vote Rcarter in 2014 Because if we all work together we can all hate everybody.
Romans 5:8-10 New International Version (NIV) 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! We all need a SAVIOR......Thank you Jesus! I learned that it is a great place to post scripture.
You are now posting porn. Literally. You post nothing that has anything at all to do with surfing. You insane child molesting attention starved clown freak who is maniacally in search of the ultimate butt plug.
This is complete and utter horsesh!t. if you are looking outside of yourself to solve your problems you are doing it wrong
You didn't learn that from anyone here. Would you like me to repeatedly shove my religious beliefs down your throat? I doubt it. Initially I thought you were trying to spread a little positivity in a negative world, but I learned that you are actually a self serving troll. I don't like to knock anyone for whatever religion they may practice, but you literally ask for it. If you want to constantly dump your sh*t on us, we may be inspired to shovel it right back onto you. Go figure. I've been to church, I get it. I will not subscribe to someone preaching at me every Sunday like I'm an idiot or a sinner for the mistakes I've made. I'm a good person who lives under the rule of conscience. I don't need the church to verify that, but thanks anyway. I don't have any qualms with positive people gathering weekly, encouraging each other to continue on a positive path and supporting each other in times of need. However religion seems too specific, too solid, in a world of fluidity. Religion seems to extinguish free thinking and creativity in ones life, in turn creating an anti-evolving mind set in a relentlessly evolving universe. That doesn't work for me. I refuse to shut my brain down and submit. Wayne, do you have any thoughts of your own, or is copy/paste the extent of your intellect? Perhaps you could attempt to put some of what you've learned in life into your own words?
If god is omnipotent, can he craft a break more consistent than Belmar? #poundsign, #Hathaway'sForsakenSons
