East coasters are better at everything. This same conversation is mirrored for skiing. 70% of the dudes shredding Tahoe, Utah, and Rado are from the northeast. Dudes learn to ski ice. I was in Utah during a snow drought, and there was a 4" cover of new snow and Alta and Snowbird were ghost towns--- I had entire runs to myself. I thought it was a powder day.

 

I feel like our passion for surfing is stronger since our waves aren't as consistent and makes us all feel like we are all a community when were together

 

There are dangers to surfing the east coast too. Polar bears in Maine, Jews in NY, etc. It gets hectic out there.

 

Dude I got so heckled by a bunch of Vietnamese dudes for a bluefish I caught when I was a kid, near the K's if I remember correctly...

Everything, including shotting piers.
