Where did Roy's thread go?

Admin deleted it as spam. Yesterday Wayne and RIsurfer were told this forum is not for promoting your agenda, business, website or weebly. One of the better developments of the new SI order I must say. No more shameless self promotion on SI for Wayne or Roy.

 

Ending self promotion is the best new policy here.

No, go back and read the threads from this weekend. Wayne did not post any link and was told what he does amounts to spamming and so he posted a goodbye thread. RISurfer posted a link to his weebly and it was promptly deleted. THe admins have to enforce the rules and like it or not Roy is running a business and therefore cannot use SI to promote it even if it is a radio interview with him. Sorry your buddy can't spam us anymore but if you want the policing of hate filled posts you got to accept the other rules too.

 

And Bingo was his name. RC & the mods are correct: promoting a biz gets you the heave-ho from the Forum.

Observation: I think it's revealing that you, chucka-boo-boo, have taken heavily to the airwaves ever since all the guys who posted their thumbs-down of your violent vines, as well as their criticism of your genuflecting in front of the gnome's self-promoting ads, have been exiled to their own version of Elba.

 

So you want the insults to stop but self promotion is okay? And what mockery do you think is going on? It really bothers you that the change you have been seeking caught your buddy Roy in it's web too huh?

 

I find it very weird that a guy that makes boards from trees he grows next to his school bus/home with his 9 children would get involved with 3d printing

 

I think that's pretty rad...combination of renewable + high tech.

Undoubtedly some members here would have found the interview interesting enough to listen to, but those who are outraged by it get their way.

In any industry which is as commercialised as surfing is, bleating about solo operators posting their stuff is ultra lame.

It was a National Radio interview, hardly spam.

Anyway there's another interview on NZ's National programme airing on Saturday, please don't tune in since this place is not for promotion of personal agendas of the creative kind, only of personal agendas of the hating naysaying variety!

Presumably anything I post is self promotion by definition since you all now know that I make surfboards, ergo it is illogical and limpwristed not to ban me altogether. Seeing any post I make might possibly remind one of my occupation.

So go on, make your day tell admin that I should be banned to protect the innocent.

Yankee, I dont even know what that means. I was just saying that I think making boards out of trees and using 3d printing to build fins are both pretty cool. Why are you comparing me to a member who got offed for religious spamming?

 

Did getting your thread deleted and an infraction point upset you that bad? As much as I dislike you I don't think you should be banned. You can post whatever you like surf related as long as it is not a link about YOUR PRODUCT becasue then you are getting free advertising. To be honest when you first arrived here a year ago I was going to report your post as spam but I did not becasue like I have said I think we should be unmoderated. But after many folks wanted some control over the arguing and hate (you, Charles and many others asked for this) look where it got us. Like I told Charles you can not have it both ways, if you want the mods to punish Yankee and me for insults then you have to follow the no spam rules. At the end of the day posting links about your product is spam and taking advantage of this site that others pay to advertise on. Your thread about your fins was blatant sales pitch and should have been deleted right away.

Get over yourself, you are not being persecuted or discriminated against, you are not a martyr and you are not special. You make surfboards and have used this site for a year now to push your product on it. Free lunch is over!
