http://www.surfline.com/surf-news/72-hours-of-surf_106602/ Had to vote for the Geiselman Bros. Though the Smith's vid was little more artistic the Geiselman's vid had better surf coverage. It seemed in the Smith's vid that all the good waves were blocked by weeds or trees, etc... Mike Lopez (filmed Geiselman vid) got better shots. Also props to Eric, he did their own soundtrack.
the music, editing, & way the smith bros. segment was shot made me hate it...i really wanted to like the smith's video simply b/c they went off the beaten track & out of their comfort zone, but it turned out god-awful, IMO.
I can't vote for either of these. Smiths was more artsy, if you consider indie pop crap and fillers of a girl that looks 15 in the woods art. And, there's nothing worse then filling edits with cuts of the "boys" hanging out on their cell phones, and talking about how great the surf without showing footage Surfing was good, but what happened to punk rock, beards, and old vans.
I often ponder the same things...a pretty solid Christian Fletcher vid came out recently, with many of those attributes, I will try to find and if so I'll post it up.
thanks seldom, I just got back from the mid afternoon surf check and find myself a bit uptight about the se winds. That would make me feel better
No problemo...in that case, I'll get on it now...I'll make a seperate thread so I don't get hit for hijacking.
