i am new jersey thru and thru and i too think obx rules the east coast…..i vote delmarva cause chincoteague is sometimes chunkateague….
If you are including cape lookout and Ocracoke island in SNC you need to specify that. Technically they are considered outer banks and would be very significant in any estimation of SNC surf quality.
Delmarva and Southern NC break completely different. Southern NC is softer, but more of a longer rippable wave. Delmarva has heavier (more hollow) waves, but not a lot of places to surf, and a lot of areas are shore breaky waves. The waves in Southern NC don't get very big, head to a little overhead. Delmarva can go up to double overhead. As noted above, the Southern Outer Banks area, is completely different, and I wouldn't group that together with the rest of Southern NC.
thread title: "delmarva vs nc" poll title: "delmarva vs southern nc very (intentionally?) misleading & pointless thread...
If you read the polling options you would see it says (south of hatteras) which includes Cape Lookout and Ocracoke if you look at a map
