The heat draw is making picking a team difficult at the least. --------------------------- I wanted to clarify something in regards to the buy-in prize contest: When I stated one user name per entry, I mean one Fantasy Surfer user name per entry. I mentioned I have a same team all year account and am buying into the contest for both. So, if you have enough time on your hands to handle 15 teams I encourage you to buy in for each! njsurfer42: I think Owen will be this year's Nat Young as far as increasing value goes. That vid series has me hoping he can hold steady and stay healthy all year.
Entry is $5. If we have a strong enough turnout this year I think we can do the leaguesafe next year, but iirc they have a $10 buy-in minimum. Didn't want to scare too many people away with too high a buy-in while we're testing the waters and I need to do some more research to see how to work out paying for a prize through that site--they predominantly handle cash payouts as far as I can tell.... but I guess cash payouts are cool too!
Yep, there is a lot more uncertainty of how and what will be judged. It's almost keeping me from picking anyone "old."
there are certain guys i'm confident w/ & won't touch unless they totally **** the bed. but there's enough fresh talent at the lower end to make things interesting...wright is a wildcard, like you said. his comeback could go either direction; world champion challenger or back to the 'qs. mitch crews has proven himself to be a darkhorse/ruiner of dreams & could climb the ranks quickly like seabass did last year. there are more guys i'd like to put on my team this year than there were last year. i feel like it was pretty simple last year...there were x number of guys who you could rely on to do well in each contest & everyone else was pretty much there to get beaten. there was the odd exception & upset, like otten randomly winning an event or wilko having the event of his life, but that's how it generally played out. i feel like there's much more competitive talent & uncertainty on tour this year. we'll see what happens.
Just joined in as surfnutsonny number 81 this is my first time doing the fantasy league but I'm excited to play I'm also down to thrown in the $5
my wife wants to join up & play, too. she prob. won't buy in though. she watched the final day of pipe w/ me & found it really interesting & she's all excited to watch the whole tour this year. she'll prob. be dragging me out of bed at 4am to watch j-bay or staying up till 1 to watch fiji...
Another Tidbit of Info You can keep shuffling your team around until the first heat of the first round of the contest starts. Some people initially get confused between the start of the contest waiting period and the actual start of the contest. Your team will be locked in when the contest actually starts.
dude, you have no idea. we're going to bocas del toro this summer. her idea. b/c "there'll be waves there & it's flat here. you need to surf."
I picked a men's and women's team. Is our club scoring based solely on the men's ASP results or are the women's results considered as well? If the women are included, is there a bonus awarded for team with the smallest bikinis?
LOL, maybe next year. This year the WTO will be based only on the men's mainly because I need to develop a good system for keeping track of all this. Of course the bragging rights contest includes the women as well. This year I started a same team all year account that includes the women's tour, there's a club you can join to win a t-shirt if you come out on top. So, if you need some more excitement I suggest that! BTW---Looks like the WILL be running Snapper today. The call should come around 2:30-3pm EST, so everyone get your teams locked!
I'm in, I have no idea what my name is but whatever, old account from back in the day. Looking forward to playing again
