Who's the other dude on the roy board in the helmet? Any footage of him? I'd be interested to see someone other than you riding your shapes.
My son James (23yrs), who was a dedicated wave rider until age 14 when a foot injury stopped him... he's just getting back into it this year. Tristan (17yrs) also caught a few waves, ( no lid or wetsuit) he is mostly into boxing but has potential as a surfer and is quite keen. I've checked with the lads and they don't mind me posting their rides so I'm uploading them now. Inside Whale Bay is a fun little section, and I'm glad that we could use it as the point at Manu Bay was taken over by a club comp.
There's a documentary about wooden boards in Maine and you'll all be able to see me on the Makaha !!! It's coming out in June but so far some good rides have been filmed and I even snag a tube section and shoot the pier. This video has all sorts of wooden shapes and various kooks like me chugging along in some Maine coast rollers.
Wow, way cool, chucka-boo-boo! Dig it ! Rad barn man! Will you be holding your latex love surf dummy while you "snag a tube" ..... say, wait a minute, you're talkin' nasty, boo-boo, don't bring up gnome's tube, keep that in private between you & your da-da.
so, do you get tunes piped into it? Is that a clear red visor for a cosmic experience? Do some schrooms, put the helmet on, pull the visor down then pop in some Floyd. Cuenta conmigo!
Now I get it! Thanks Chich. Father's Day is coming sooooon! I see an orange and blue surf helmet in my future.
Says the leader of The Gnome Zone. Say, whatever happened to your mythical South Cackalacky bro who built the mythical gnome board & whom you allegedly photographed at the beach? Yet, oh snap, there's not one pic of that plank even in the ocean let alone on a wave. Same as chucka-boo-boo....you guys keep yapping about how you build these gnome boards & surf the heck outta them, but there's not a shred of proof. Photoshpped bathtub pics don't count, chromedome. Peace until next wave
You're making me blush again Y! I'm not the leader. I'm just a guy that dabbles in the sacred craft. Don't know what happened to Steve. I think he was probably more of a craftsman than a surfer. It's not on me to prove anyone else's board but if you search my past posts hard enough you'll find a pic of me. I know that's not your thing though. You're no troll.
Same crappy wave, same crappy rides. Around the point its probably pumping and these guys are riding lumps.
take away something concrete from this thread……YOU DO WANT TO SURF THERE…its so scenic and beautiful and when i went the locals were friendly….and i had such a GOOD TIME!!! and the actual wave is A+ quality and offers THREE SEPARATE POINTS….i'm breaking a sweat here…heart rate is up…..
Ok here's how it was: High 'King' tide, so no good at Indicators at that small size... ok for Manu Bay but there was a club contest on, so it was really the only option and it worked out well because the onshore came up early and the inside at whale Bay was more sheltered. It's actually an interesting spot there at high tide, as it breaks right on the rocks. Anyway from the same session:
