crazy chit; worth the read...i tink many of us would like to be a rock star but after reading
this being a surfer a much better choice...basically the people round him are either soaking him or dying on his time...any way heres a couple blurbs:

a hand written note from linda mccartney: #6 entering the charts; oooooooh you can play
w/us anytime....or a conversation between him and david bowie:

david: i've done so much sex and drugs i'm amazed i'm alive.
morrissey: i've had so little sex and drugs i'm amazed i'm alive.

or the fact that nancy sinatras' door is a photo of him....check it out.:D

Moz is sooooo bad. I never understood why punk/hardcore kids would drop out of that scene and listen to Moz records all day. he's the worsssst.

that moz quote about sex sums up everything i hate about this guy. "wooo is mee my life sucks" moz

agreed. but its no stretch to say around him they drop like flies. christy mccall ( an artist, writer for bangles,
back-up vocals for the smiths) is on holiday in cancun when in front of her two teenage sons she is sliced in
    two by a speedboat….

one more excerpt and i'll be quiet:

at his first show in sao paolo a small blonde caucasian child is gently passed overheads to the stage. he sees
that she has a walking stick and a note and then that she is blind. as she lands on the stage she hands him the
note which says "I can't see you but i love you."

that was his angle; what made him original in the biz. The musical chemistry between him and johnny marr was up there with page and plant, etc. I was never an unconditional fan, but I thought the smiths were excellent in every way and still pull out the box set on occasion.

I don't remember the book,i think I might of read about him in the encyclopedia of surfing by matt warshaw.I found a little interview online with him.

they said he was just a crazy rich adventurer.like one story he met up with some legendary hawaiin surf photog and theyr tripping out and the photog says something about jbay, and spreckles being spontaneous was like lets go right now, bought the photog a ticket and passport and went to jbay.that's how he spent his life just jumping to spot to spot on a moments notice.kind of like the feral surfer, except this guy had money

in his book moz says the smiths died due to a bizarre combination of talent and success (???!!!) you're right
about their stunning talent: and example of this is when they broke up johnny marr went straight to the
    talking heads then the pretenders.

I appreciate his work more now than I did then... thinking about reading the book, too.
