I'll have to take another look at the turns. I was enamored by the waves and how JJ stays in the tube AFTER the wave spits. Crazy deep in there.
yes i like medina but please also know i think this is AWESOME! I mean, when did they start DOING THAT?
Right? And when did guys start pulling airs as a mid wave trick (and then continue down the line) rather than a wave ending trick? Like playing Kelly Slater on PlayStation. Each one of those tour pros are ridiculous. Fun to debate. Who has the best turns? I'm partial to Dane myself.
dane rips and i love to watch his vids. for better or worse or maybe something uniquely californian or american or i'm not sure what he does not seem to have the competitive fire that the brazileros do. imagine a cross between his talent and adrianos fire breathing...
Sadly I can think of a lot of athletes who fall in to that crazy talent but no fire category. If Dane cared for just a few seasons, he'd snag a title. Maybe his girl will leave him or something and he'll find that fire. Must be getting some really good nanny because dude has hardly a care in the world.
Woah, I got some reading to do then. Did he sell his Quik shares? I'd imagine this is good for the sport as it will let a clear authority exert progressive thinking that's unmasked by a parent corporate's veil.
Emass, that would be the best scenario for all surfers I think. I don't know anything about the deal or whether he sold shares.
You haven't been watching. It hasn't been consistent enough to run it at The Box. It's on now, Round 5. At The Box. Dig it.
It seems like the box sucks right now. If you doubled the size it would be a good contest. The most broken rule I surfing is don't leave good waves when you've got them. By the way, I'd love to see Miguel Pupo eat an apple. I imagine he could shred a big Granny Smith up with those snaggle teefs.
yo what happened to his grill? looked like he went a few rounds with tyson. dear josh kerr Please for the love of all things. please please beat medina. i will forever worship you. Love Everyone
Anyone else feel like backhand snaps get overly scored a bit? I thought the same thing a lot of last year watching Nat, and at the end of the year, Freddy, and now this year watching Gab....like I get that it's obviously an advantage to be surfing on your forehand, but it seems like the requirement for variety in maneuvers goes out the window on your backhand. Throw three backhand snaps where your board gets pretty vertical at the lip and you're all but guaranteed a 7 or better. Let's be clear, I am making this commentary purely as an observer, I know I can't do any of said turns.
i agree and sorta goes to the point i made after the snapper event that gabe is getting scoring advantages. i want to see him get wrecked at the box. it was too funny watching pupo get WORKED in the heat at the box against jordy. give these brazzos some juice and they wet themselves.
