Was it a Hpsb? Because that makes a big difference. Where there closeout? Because there is no such thing as one? Last thing was anyone shooting up in the line up. We got 2 foot here yesterday with offshore-sideshore. It was okay I bet folly was about 23 feet.

Long Island was near perfect today. Shoulder high glass, the good ones would wall up real nice and just go for what seemed like forever (for LI standards). No closeouts. 5 guys out including me. Waters warming up, or maybe I'm just not used to the sun being out.

tuesday afternoon was definitely the best of the swell for me...caught some really fun ones on my go-to campbell bros. octafish (i'm really starting to get that board dialed in. been bumping the center fin back incrementally over the last few sessions & think i've found the perfect spot for it) that i've been riding almost exclusively since the end of september...a pretty long time for me. i generally buy boards like chicks buy shoes.
waves were shoulder high w/ head high sets coming through now & then. it was pretty much everything i love about surfing in nj...uncrowded (2 other guys when i paddled out, ballooned up to 7 total toward the end of my session), & a mix of makeable barrels & lined up, rippable walls. plus it was warm, which really does make the whole experience that much better.
yesterday afternoon was still fun, albeit significantly smaller. more crowded, too, but was able to find an overlooked peak w/ a buddy that was w/in view & easy paddling of the masses. since i've sold off a much of boards & don't really have a true groveler, i borrowed a friend's 5'8" bing dharma. had a little trouble adjusting to it, but still managed to find some really fun little waist-stomach high lines to have a go at. water may have been a touch chillier than tuesday, but the air was warmer & there was far less duck-diving, so it all evened out.

surfed for about 6 hours in 2 days, so all in all, a very fun little swell! here's hoping for more.

Tuesday after work was the best surf session I've had in years.

Just perfect little walls that peeled down the whole beach. Unfortunately they just moved the dredging barge to #belmar. Check the surfersview cam... looks disgusting!
