See, that was the most logical statement I have heard all day... I agree with you. I am not saying that NO boogie boarders get respect at pipe and no one ever lays down there. I am just saying that in MOST places in the world, if the surf is firing, and you are a visitor: Walking up on the beach with a surfboard under your arm and walking up with a sponge are two TOTALLY different things.

Another example here. If there is a boogie boarder on here that has ever "surfed" the Ocean Beach Pier, I would like them to sound off. You want to know why? Boogie boards are not ALLOWED there, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. Period. No because the locals will eat you up. Because its AGAINST THE LAW.... No sponges. EVER. Not before 10 am. Not even at midnight.

You couldn't surf that spot if you wanted to, because they had too many issues with spongers getting in the way. It is now a law that you can not enter that water with a sponge. You can bodysurf. You can Kayak surf. You can do whatever you want. YOU CAN NOT SPONGE.

Yeah, I agree with him. You again missed the point. They were protecting a contest. It was a stand up surfer. I used that as an example of LOCALISM. YOU are the one that said its 2014 and people dont just punch people in the ocean anymore. I used that as VIDEO evidence of a guy kicking the sh** out of someone and NOT getting arrested. Its OBVIOUS that he is a surfer, not a sponger.

Stop deflecting and trying to manipulate my words again.

Bull****. You're completely contradicting yourself. You're just backing off because of how dumb you look with your arguments.
I thought you said that there were only 2 spots you can sponge at. Now you're calling out one spot that you can't. Shouldn't there hundred according to their logic
    Like I said before, GTFO
List the hundreds of spots that ban bodyboarding in california please?

Agreed, bodyboarders, generally don't get much respect. I've bodyboarded OB, and didn't get thrown out. In fact, a friend of mine, a dedicated bodyboarder is from OB and surfed there all the time.

Have we figured out who has the biggest sack yet? Mine are just average size, and I'm okay with that, so I'm dropping out of this competition.

I don't need to manipulate anything. You condracting yourself the second more than one person stands up to you. You have a weak spine and your arguments are absurd and wrong

Necessity is the mother of invention. That's why this happened.

It's like a surfboard and boogie board got drunk and made an awful, awful baby.

Okay, you are the only one on the other side of this conversation? Who are all these other people "standing up to me" cause the one thing I know you wont do is "stand up"... Get it? =) Come on, even though you obviously dislike me and my opinions, can't we have an occasional laugh. Like, "if you lay down to surf, do you sit down to pee"? come one... thats a little funny.

Further, more, I have exhausted everything I have to say about the matter. You have somehow turned me into some boogie boarding hate monger, which I am not. I thinks its awesome that anyone is in the water, having fun. we all agree on that. I am just telling you that I "think" that you need to get out more. Because if you get nothing but love when you travel the world with a boogie board, then you are a rare gem my brother.

And again, I wasn't the guy fighting or doing any of the things I have cited. I am one of the most respectful people you would ever run into when I am out there. I have never had words with a sponger. I have seen it happen dozens of times, but I pay it no mind. Thats is not my business...

Furthermore, it is obvious that I should not chime in on this thread any longer since I got a nice little private message from the admins concerning the content in this here thread. Like I said, I spoke my peace man. You don't need my approval anyway. Do what you do. You don't even know me, so my opinion isn't going to result in sleepless nights for you... Maybe someday we can paddle out and trade vehicles for a while. See how the other half lives.

First of all Shark****, I'm not even close to 70 years old...as usual, you're wayyyy off base. But I definitely have logged much more water time than you, using every single imaginable type of water craft...as opposed to you, the myopic views of someone who seems to fanatically believe that riding a rubber biscuit is the ultimate panacea of wave riding.

I'm with Zach on this one. Wow dude, you actually rode Mission Beach in the summertime? Man, you owe me a new keyboard because after I read that one, I spat my coffee all over it. BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA dude, MB in the summer? You'd get more cred riding Tourmaline, god what a joke you are. I can just imagine you kicking your little feet over to S Mission Jetty, you'd be swallowing teeth in less than 2 minutes. You'd better believe localism and the sponge/board chasm exists on the West Coast. I'm betting that my local dawg at OB Jetty was the "face spitter", and he's a kneerider for cryin' out loud.

Zach is also right about another thing that I brought up earlier: Why are you such a name dropper? You aren't Boogie Pro X or Boogie Pro Y or Boogie Pro Z, and you've never surfed Pipe or Wedge or Shark Island or even MB Jetty, which is a 10 on a scale of 1-10 with summertime flagged boogerboard MB being a "1", LMAO.

You keep twisting everything and manipulating everybody's statements by dropping names and dropping spots, none of which is relevant to the thread. Bottom line: Surfing is technically more difficult than dragging your nads. PERIOD. No matter how many names you drop and how many spots you name, nothing can change that fact. Most people here choose to pick surfing. Obviously, you like to pick boogers. That's cool, to each his own I guess.

I'm not gonna lie, paddling through rapids could be a lot of fun on that thing. I don't see why you couldn't stand up on a river wave, with the Bellyak or something like it.

Don't get me wrong- I'm not going to skip a day of swell to go inland Bellyaking. But if moved inland for some inane reason, I would give it a shot. I have been river surfing and tubing and that **** is a blast.

I don't want to see one in the lineup. But it does seem like a good way for the physically disabled to access the water or waves....

Not twisiting anything. lol It was stated only 2 spots you could bodyboard at on west coast. I proved that wrong. I proved a bunch of things wrong. Dropping spots like pipe for obvious reasons stated that bodyboarders have to leave when the swells come and showing that there are bodyboarders out there that rip harder than you do on your surfboard. Get over it! Also, mb is a beach break and much heavier than many of the the reef spots like malibu in cali. So not sure what you're talking about.

Wow dude, you just proved to the world that you DON'T know what I'm talking about.

    1) Malibu is a point break with a sand bottom, NOT a "reef spot".
    2) Mission Beach, on it's heaviest day EVER, would never be a match for Malibu...except for the beatings you'd get paddling out.

You just don't know what your talking about. I'm out.

Give any decent surfer a sponge and you will be put in your place pretty quickly. It's... not... that... hard. There, I said it. Can you say the same? Could you grab a short board and shred? Doubt it. I know some dudes that exclusively body board, and they rip, but they also don't go talking trash to/about surfers either, or I'd tell 'em the same.

said it before, I'll say it again, I'm 100% surfer but have never been deeper, and come out cleaner, than a day of shorebreak tubes in obx after I broke the nose off of my shortie and borrowed a bud's sponge. There is certainly a place for every craft, just not for your attitude.
