It IS a good thing. Authorities using common sense recognizing dangerous predators and dealing with it. What we do to sweet docile animals in slaughter houses is horrific. Absolutely incredibly cruel. And that's just so we have cheap meat, which you don't even need to survive. Self defense against dangerous predators is a good thing. Don't really see what the issue is. I guess black bears are endangered now too? I guess the orlando area is the wilderness too. lol Don't like to see any animal killed, but people's self defense comes first.

Go attach some meat to your ass and run around the african plains so all the nice predators will say hi!

Black Bears in Florida were removed from the threatened list just two years ago. It is still illegal to injure or kill a bear or possess or sell bear parts.

Umm, well, yeah actually it is. These people's house borders on the Wekiva River Buffer Conservation Area. That borders on the Seminole State Forest and (surprise, surprise!) the Black Bear Wilderness Area.

Sadly, it is necessary to put these animals down as they have been imprinted by contact with humans. At least the FWC doesn't use the drum line type techniques like the Aussies do which appear to attract sharks to the area that is trying to be made safe. If I were to guess though, these folks likely didn't secure their garage/trash recepticles and the bears were rummaging for an easy meal.

When you enter the ocean expect to find sharks. Live on a lake or canal in Florida and you might have a gator swallow Fido. When you build your house in the forest don't be surprised to find bears snacking in your trash bins.

It's legal to kill black bears in most U.S. states. Just visit Maine sometime. Hunting predators is necessary to make them fear you.

Hell, I just watched this documentary on animal plant about grizzly bears. A bunch of moron's in grizzly country with no firearms and nothing but that gay ass bear spray. Who enters alaskan bear country without a shotgun? Idiots lucky they didn't end up like that guy that got killed.

Have fun being the animals food. They don't give a **** about you. They'll eat their own young and kill each other and anything else for fun. Their predatory beasts.

The most dangerous black bears are actually ones that have NO human contact in the wilderness in northern B.C. They WILL hunt and EAT you.

 

Yeah black bears are really endagnered. There are 200,000 estimated in AK ALONE. 25,000 in Maine with a growing population despite being hunted for DECADES. 35,000 in wisconsin. Their about as at risk of going extinct as coyotes. Yet "bear defenders" will still fight against any type of bear hunting even in cases where people are at risk.
