why is otis carey acting like a such a baby? Seems like he's getting wayyyy too butthurt over this thing. They apologized, move on. $200k in suit seems pretty opportunistic. are there Al Sharptons in Oz?
please don't associate the glorious religion of Pastafarianism w/ metard. he's not one of us. that said, what's an "otis carey"?
abbos were considered wildlife by the aussie gvt up until about 35-40 years ago. yikes. werent included in census, but included as a line item in the biodiversity accounts. sheesh. white people. but in all fairness, he looks like a Neanderthal
Holy **** that's messed up about the wildlife status. That said, c'mon, I mean the dude looks like the geico caveman with some tatts. Probably a stupid thing to say but damn, if you ugly you ugly. Lawsuits, so easy a caveman can do it.
yea, i found an article on the intertia about it...sounds like carey is really taking the "ape-ish" remark out of context, basically making something out of nothing. not that that excuses the surfing life guys from not thinking through the remark. it should never have been published, but carey should prob. just get over it & accept the apology.
abbos tough issue; its not in the glossy travel brochures. for starters they control the parking at brock. the upside to the abbo issue is that sometimes it gets a country to behave who otherwise might not have.
Are there apes in Australia? I don't think so. The dude has really thin skin. He should be glad of the notoriety and accept the apology. I agree it was a P.R. nightmare for the surf mag, but that is not the first or last time a "surf journalist" made disparaging remarks about someone. His parents must be really pissed, but that's probably every time they look in the mirror.
While I don't find it racist, I still don't understand the point of opening an article with something offensive and epically judgmental based on someones appearance. Regardless of what we may think surfing is, a pro surfer in spotlight could lose notoriety because of what a popular magazine says. People these days tend to jump on bandwagons, as many of we do when hating on someone/something, thus look at a subject differently. A loss of notoreity could lead to a loss of sponsorship, which many pro's survive on. Its a tough call, especially being on the outside. Easy for us to say when stability just means showing up for a job were our popularity may not matter.
It's always amazing to me that the idiots & efftards manage to locate, and latch onto, one another in the chaos & swirl that is humanity. Idiot Otis & Efftard magazine writer: match makers dream.
That dude doesn't look or act like an aboriginal. He also doesn't resemble an ape whatsoever. I will say he's being way too American with this lawsuit, if ya know what I mean.
+1......where I grew up, nobody would have blinked at someone calling someone else that. (yes clemmie that could explain a lot, couldn't it)
