one time my fin hit my crotch but somehow missed the 'family jewels.' huge black/blue bruise but thankfully a 'swing and a miss.'
Just like they say to the ladies, 'check your boobies', guys need to check their nuts. IF you feel a small hard lump on of them, see your doc and even then its probably not cancer. The last time I ever road a longboard was 25 years ago. Very small day in OCMD and I rode an ankle lapper to the sand and sunk the board. When I stepped off, the damn think shot side ways right into the nuts. I had to crawl out from the water with my new wife laughing her ass off.
I just bought the Hyperflex jacket for cold sessions.Just throw it over your suit and go home and take a nice hot shower.Matt Johnson would be proud.
One of the top five worst pains I've ever felt happened on a beautiful, sunny, offshore head high day. It was mid-winter and I had 6/5 hooded suit on. It was fun but I'd been out for a few hours and was starting to get pretty cold. A nice right came my way and when i went to stand my left calf cramped and locked up. It was intense and I just wanted to grab it so i kicked my board out and just kind of sat down. When I hit the wave face, ass first, I was moving pretty fast and literally came to a dead stop with the water flowing up the face. My wetsuit hit first and yanked back and it was like a nuclear wedgie- absolutely split my s@ck in half right down the middle. Literally thought i was going to have physical damage. Took all the air out of my lungs too. Grabbed onto my board and the next set washed me and my new mangina in. Two hours later, all was good - right nut an inch lower than my left.
I can relate to all of these (unfortunately). Maybe my body is saying "chill *****". Damn maybe I should go medical and hook surfers up. Probably make a living or go lawyer and get kids outta pier tickets (757) Man I feel better hearin from y'all but thinking the docs scorin another co pay. Kinda effed though. Coulda scored another board Here's another question, after such an injury, what do you do to recover if anything? It seems like such an overlooked, comical yet rare injury but there are so many degrees of seriousness. How about what do you do if anything when hurt but don't want to miss that swell?
I'm not sure if I understand the question so my answer may not relate. Nevertheless, when I played baseball and I was cup-checked, I always made sure I ran several "self tests" to make sure everything was working properly and there were no blockages, kinks or general maladies and it seemed to work... Needless I say more, I have two kids.
