They all lead to other blogs as well as blogs saying that the story is complete BS... I can write on here 1000 times that I went Fukishima and all is better. And do the same on other sites. That doesn't make it true.
They also lead to documents from official sources which presumably give the air of credibility which you require. Why do you choose to ignore such sources? I have not formed an opinion on the subject matter, I'm simply pointing out that saying that information on blogs is necessarily not credible is a fallacious deduction.
No they don't. Feel free to share those official documents. Last time I tried to track down real information, I was lead to articles from known conspiracy theory websites.
Roy has a bit of a point, be and bi stater are both assuming authority has no reason to lie, and therefore must be accurate which is wrong. however, it doesn't mean those wacko blogs have anything resembling truth either gotta be suspect and skeptical.
What's up with the increased levels of radiation that were predicted to hit the Pacific coast by early 2014?
I'm really not assuming that. I assume that we are 100% being lied too... I'm just trying to find some facts from people more informed than me.
God, I hate to be "that guy" but I think I have to. First, I buy in, 100% to the fact that the Fukashima situation is going to eventually be considered one of the worst man-made disasters of our lifetime. I mean, I can't even get started on that.... But I have to be devil's advocate here on the "climate change" issue. I don't want to be Joe the Plumber here, but seriously. Our planet and atmosphere has been changing since it's inception. I mean, continents shift, the earth and most living species are eradicated. We have ice ages, We have stages of extreme heat. Yes, we have rising sea levels... But we have had rising sea levels for hundreds of thousands of years. Are the ice caps melting quicker? Arguably, yes... But who knows at what rate any of this would have happened. As the ice melts deeper, maybe it melts faster... I am just not convinced by the typical data present by climate change theorists. Its basic numbers, that don't lie... But like I said, look at the world history. The Grand Canyon used to be the ocean. The sea levels OBVIOUSLY have gone down in recent times. Look at the entire west coast. You can see where the water levels USED to be. WAY HIGHER. And if it's still visible, it can't have happened that long ago, in the grand scheme of things. I agree that we should lower emissions, we should be more green. I am just NOT sold on the fact that little old us, humans are the cause of mother earth living out her course. I mean, the dinosaurs caused their own extinction? No. Mother earth has wiped this place clean whenever she wants to... You can carbon date stuff all you want, but how do we truly know what the water levels were doing world wide in the post-ice age. I mean, how fast were they melting... How long did it take for the ocean levels to drop? I mean, you can see 100 feet of cliff all over CA indicating the previous water levels.... Just saying, it the weather changing? Maybe. it always does. Its cyclical. El Nino's come and go. The 100 year storms happen. Nature is always taking its course with or without us..... I guess, in summation, my question is: If we all used horse and buggies, and didn't go through the industrial revolution and start burning fossil fuels, where would the climate be? Where would the sea level be? In my opinion, it would probably be nearly identical. Scientists can look at data and plainly see that water levels are rising. Yes. They always have been. They are moving SLIGHTLY faster than a century ago... so? Well how fast was it moving 2500 years ago? I mean, what are we comparing this data to other than to large changes in large periods of time. Who knows. 5000 years ago, sea levels could have started rising more rapidly, then 100 years later slowed down again.... I am just not sold that little old man is to blame one way or the other. We are fleas. We can get shaken off easily. I think the atmosphere can withstand a lot more than we think and will adapt accordingly with no worries... I do think we need to kick fossil fuels to the curb and change our ways... But not because of mother earth so much as for MONEY. We need to go green for ourselves. Not for climate change. We need to stop relying on the rest of the world when we can be self reliant. Cause if you think China is going to "GO GREEN" with us, haha... aint gonna happen. The rest of the world aint jumping on board, so we may as well worry about ourselves, cause if im wrong and climate change is our fault completely, we are screwed and too far gone for the world to change... We are the small percentage of people that give a sh**.. Other countries are worried about getting a meal today. Or keeping their family alive. They would care less about the world in 300 years.
If you read the research on this, you will understand why it isn't about weather patterns. Much of the world is actually on board, btw. Asia doesn't care, but they are also killing their people with toxic emissions. I will send you some research papers when I get back to my computer. Climate change is a serious thing, and needs to be addressed using real science and data. The green movement isn't going to stop it either.
I would like to check them out. Thanks... I don't think it's about weather patterns either. That was the whole problem 15 years ago when they rolled all of this out to the world. It was a miss-representation of what they were trying to say... My take is simple: I think that nature is taking it's course. I think that humans don't help the situation, but I don't think that we are to blame. I think that the data, even though is has accelerated as of late, is just that. Its data. I think the ice caps would melt regardless of our emissions. I think if you took humans out of the equation, then the world would still be doing what it does. The sea levels are rising. Its still as$ cold in the winter =) wink, wink, just as it always has been. I just think us, as people sift through data now. We think more. We research more... I just think all in all, there isn't ANYTHING were are going to do to change the course of the earth. My take is that we are blaming ourselves and each other for the evolution of the earth. Yes, there are higher traces of gasses and things in the atmosphere that are directly related to human's depositing there. Can't argue that. I would just say that has nothing to do with the price of tea in china, with regards to its application to climate change. There is no proof that any of this IS THE CAUSE. The data may POINT to it. But this is just the human mind trying to rationalize it's future and it's past, while also creating a money hungry movement to change the world. Just another way to capitalize on the good faith of humanity. I just think we are looking for another cause, a movement that will cost the world hundreds of trillions of dollars to try and make a change, and at the end of the day, i think they will find their efforts to fall short. It would happen with us, it would happen without us. Dinosaurs aren't extinct because they farted too much and destroyed the atmosphere. The earth is just doing what she does. Like I said, 10,000 years ago, the ocean was rising... It is not a huge shock to me that it is still rising. IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN, ya know? And we can blame ourselves for the acceleration, but I don't agree with it. It would have sped up slightly regardless, like it always has. Im no scientist, but the inhabitants of this world that we live in, have never been the cause of it's changes. Like I said, the ICE AGES, PANGEA. I mean, the earth has been doing its thing for EVER and if in 200,000 years, Ohio is waterfront, I won't blame people for that. The world has been doing what it does with or without us and the ice caps "DONE BEEN MELTING"... ya heard? I mean, can you imagine how upset all the owners of the ocean front real-state in Arizona were a million years ago? I mean, that was prime ocean front. Now the sea moved about 1000 miles away... I don't think we look back on that and say man, those darn plants just mucked up the atmosphere so much that the ocean level dropped a few hundred feet.
This is the biggest issue, in regards to AGW. http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/education/kits/currents/06conveyor3.html http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/10/121015121911.htm The thought of a dead ocean is pretty scary. I will send more later, but that is always a big one for me.
Holy sh!t Zach, do you have to write a novel or five on every thread? This thread is about Fukishima and you're writing essays about climate change. Your loquacious writing style is uncalled for. Did you ever see the smog that sits over L.A. or N.Y.C. from a distance? It's not water vapor and it's environmentally destructive in multiple ways. What about the holes in the ozone layer and that fact that it's much easier to get sun burned now, then it was 25 years ago? I don't think those things are a cyclical part of nature and without repercussion. D
Ill keep it short. But I caught up late on this thread and it was already slightly derailed. And as far as it not being part of the cycle? Not sure... Maybe more people spent recreational time outdoors. And yeah, I see the smog, I think mother nature enjoys it. Its like smoking a cigarette. She probably gets a buzz quite often.
And I did agree with everyone on the Leak. I got that outta the way a long time ago. I think its far more destructive than anyone realizes. I mean, leaking radio active materials all over ocean and eastern hemisphere is never good.
Now that you invoked my name I guess I can respond without fear of being ratted out. You are right about that, since most of the scientists and all the networks are paid off shills.
As far as Global Climate change goes, some places are getting colder and others warmer: fact. Probably from the pole shift caused by Planet X. I'm skeert. Hold me Brewski!
Paid off by whom? It is hilarious that anyone would think most scientists are paid off. If they were, they sure don't seem to show their wealth well.
