google chrome browser

Google Chrome is good. I use it as a backup for FF. Its so simple, that everything loads extremely fast, and its a little more compitible than FF3.0 (Based on acid3tests). But its too simple for me. I prefer the customizable features of FF over it.

Acid3tests runs the latest scripts available for web browsers. Most of which not ANY website will use, but Chrome runs 79% of them... Out of all my browsers, that placed first, with Safari 75% and FF3 around 73%. Supposedly the next Opera is supposed to hit 85+. FF is doggin' it. My current Opera is at 63 and FF at 61. (Some of my browsers are out of date)

 

its marginally faster, but i have yet to get flash or active X to work with it, so no swell models....

If you really want to optimize performance, drop Windows and pick up Ubuntu. Open Source OS that doesn't run all the negligable stuff that Windows does.

 

Just be prepared to ignore most anything flash (several areas of this site) for net use. It's sluggish and extremely buggy on linux. Often times after loading a page with flash on it, then clicking a button, my entire browser just disappears.

 

I don't have any of those problems.

 

Same here. Only down side is you can't play games

I've been using it since it was released. I like it a lot especially the incognito window. The look of it and all the unnecessary stuff gone make way for the actual page you are viewing much bigger.

I have experienced a lot of problems with being that it is a beta version.

 

Yeah, it's weird... I installed it on my home laptop the day after it got released and I believe on my desktop at work 2 days after being released. I have experienced a lot more problems with it on my laptop and actually went as far as uninstalling and just using FF for now.

I am still using Chrome on my work computer and never really have any problems with it.

 

yeah im stickin by ff until chrome gets going a little more. for me its actually slower, but i have faith in google

 

Opera is another good browser. If anyone is looking for another one besides Chome and FF

 

Um let me run through it. I use it for random things. Never tried SwellInfo on it.

 

Just upgraded to Opera 9.62. Looks fly. Cool set up. Everything is loading fine too. Nothing I didn't notice. Try upgrading yours and check the same parts that went wrong last time.

 

Browsers galore

I started using chrome a couple months ago and think it's great. I am traveling and carry a 10" eee laptop, so getting the most out of a small screen is important.

I just downloaded the IE 8 beta the other day and have to say it's not bad. I read a review of FF3, Chrome, IE8 Beta not long ago and IE came out on top for minimal processor usage, which is also important with this tiny laptop. Apparently FF is a processor hog when you have flash video windows open, even if they aren't actively playing. Chrome tested better on this front, but IE 8 was best. I'm not a M$ fan, but if it works...

Chrome has an internal task manager which is cool. If a page hangs or otherwise crashes, you can quit that tab without losing the whole browser.
