i got those new oneill 5/4 superfreak booties and was wondering if you can just wondering if you can just dry them with it how you put them on since they are pretty hard to flip inside out. any help would be very apprecaited.
For years I dryed mine on the heat vent upside down. I figured I'd waste some money on a new surf toy and bought this: http://cozywinters.com/shop/dg1.html I have to tell you this thing works great for drying booties and gloves, 2 hours after I put them on they are completely dry. The timer is great just turn the switch for the time you want and it shuts off automatically.
Just curious....since the universal rule for drying wetsuit boots/gloves is "keep out of direct sunlight and never put in heated dryer", is it bad to place them on the heat vent @ home? Also, the boot/glove drying machine looks sick. Is it just a fan running cool air on the gloves/boots?
The boot dryer has an air only or heated air option. The heated air is less than 100 degrees and I don't believe will have any effect on the boots or gloves. The product info did state that it would not hurt temp. sensitive materials and my observation would agree with that. Hope that helps.
Exactly!! Most of the time, depending on waves, most of us are surfing more than once a week. Also, CharlieInOc....yes the advice did help. It sounds like a decent investment...
but what's so bad about putting on wet booties? I'm just glad that my wetsuit dries in practically one night.
my buddy recommended filling the boots/gloves up with hot water before you go to surf. Granted the gloves/boots are wet but they are also super toasty. Of course this only works if you live reasonably close to the beach. I used to lay my gloves and boots near the dehumidifier in my basement...did the trick overnight.
If you want to dry them on the heat register, wring out your boots and prop them against something upside down on top of it so that the air blows into them. They don't have to be inside out. Same with your gloves.
so i read your review on that site...do u really like it? does it beat just putting your boots and gloves upside down on a heating vent?
I don't mind wet boots at all, but I do mind my boots nasty stench after a few days of not drying. I don't blame pissing in my wetsuit, though i'm sure that helps. Anywho, that had nothing to do with your blogersation, so carry on.
