Haven't tried Chrome as of yet waiting till they get all the bugs out. But, I have used a program called nLite to pull all the extra applications and garbage out of my windows XP installation to allow my PC to run much much more smoothly......including browsing the web.

Hmm.. I might have to check this out as well. Can you elaborate a little more in simple terms what this does?

Sure....What nLite does is removes any part of window which you don't like....like IE and those horrible games...haha. So, basically it slims down XP as a whole. You can also add apps and make changes like an open source OS.

The process is to rip a copy of XP onto your HD. Then install nLite. Open nLite...It will ask where the location is on the HD for the copy of XP. Simply browse for the location. Now this is where you can add and remove parts of XP. Once you create XP the way you like it. Burn a copy and you will have a copy on a CD without all the crap....I even removed the stupid games, IE...and some tools i don't use ever...Like most of the stuff under Accessories. You can add drivers...I added Firefox as my only browser.

These are just some basic things you can do with nLite.....check out their forums for more advanced changes including appearances! Who needs Windowsblinds anymore?

I don't notice the speed increase with chrome, and i've tested it against firefox for a bit now. I think you just need a faster computer/ISP...???

I really don't like chrome at all...

I keep a high resolution screen, and the zoom in firefox is just way nicer. it zooms photos, flash, etc at a good ratio...instead of just making the text bigger, leaving the pictures and other non-text content the same size, and really screwing things up.

that's the deal breaker for me. web pages within IE or Chrome just can't be "zoomed" as they should. it just makes the text bigger.

opera has a nice zoom as well, but for some reason, firefox is just a bit nicer IMO.

yea thanks for the consideration Swellinfo--my bro had it in his computer when I visited him duing Thanksgiving--when I got back to OC I immediately downloaded it and I will never use Internet Explorer again. This page works MUCH faster as well as my eBay page so Thanks!
