My normal summer go-to fin is a pair of L makapuus that I wear right-side up; however, I've found if I get foot cramps, sometimes switching them to upside-down helps. <br /><br />My winter over-the-socks pair of fins is a pair of XL Australian Manta Blade IIs that came free with my apartment, and I find that they just have way more thrust catching the wave when I wear them upside down. Somehow, right side up, the curve is wrong and they just drag and push water the wrong direction. Here's a pic of some extremely similar fins:<br /><br />
