So, I was a member of another forum for quite some time. I rarely post there anymore, just use it as a resource. One HUGE plus about this forum was subject related group buys. Typically direct to manufacturer. Regularly, 30% discounts were applied across the board. So....has anyone here ran one for surf stuff or related things? Just throwing the idea out there....maybe Carver would be interested in selling some volume at discount? Anyone interested in some Carvers? I'm sure they wouldn't mind the free publicity on this forum, considering Emass is essentially an unpaid spokesperson.
Oh man, Tor is still alive and well. New marketplace running out of South Africa, mirrored servers all over the world. They won't be shutting them down anytime soon. They are actually setting up a P2P version, think napster. Looks like ebay. Uses dark-wallet. I love me some free market. Media wants everyone to think bitcoin is a phase. Media is controlled by gov. Gov has an investment in currency. Bitcoin scares the f*** out of the gov.
So far, board blanks, carvers, fins. Any manufacturers people can agree on? I contacted Carver, they didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about. I'll contact a few retailers, see if they can throw something together.
With all of the northeastern guys on here a group buy on wetsuits (or just boots/gloves/hoods) might work.
I know bitcoin isn't going anywhere. I think it is a incredible F'U to government's around the globe... I was talking about Silk Road.... Silk Road was interesting, but FAR too dangerous. If you can have a pound of blow delivered to your house or buy a hitman, I think we all see the danger in that... Can't believe the guy got away with it as long as he did. Incredible.
Yeah, I love free market too, but with the current world's climate, and I don't mean weather, I think its a bit risky to allow any kind of system to operate that can potentially distribute WMDs and such in a "free market" I think that the financial side of bitcoin is revolutionary... But you also saw what happened in China and stuff lately. One day, you can have a million dollars invested and the next day you could wake up and have nothing... Its only a matter of time before the NSA and CIA start freezing sh** and just taking the currency out of peoples hands. Its a slippery slope for sure.
They popped the Silk Road guy in a public library, about 10 agents posing as patrons. He is going away for along time. Murder for hire. Scary stuff. Me and my buds order blanks en mass to cut down on the shipping charge, but me thinks it is time to negotiate on unit price next time. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
But I didn't think it really had to do with the country in which you live. Isn't it just an investment in which real cash is exchanged for XX amount of bitcoin? So, does it really matter what the IRS says? I thought they just made that statement because there is no way for them to tax or monitor it... So, if I were to go on a chinese website, buy into bitcoin currency and then sit on it, as the value rises etc... using it on websites or business' that accept it?
you just bought "property" think (land, car, boat), therefor taxable not a consumer good (sales tax) not a currency (exchange rate) your bank will eventually make you fill out a form an report the transaction
also, i never graduated high school currently third shift line cook waffle house "metard life" stickers for sale on group purchase btw
