    Information on shark netting:
    http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/info/sharksmart/meshing

"The netting program began in 1937 and during 70 years while the nets have been in operation, there has been only one fatal attack on a netted beach. Before the program was in place, during the period
from 1900 to 1936, there was an average of one fatal shark attack every year in NSW waters."

And there were no surfers back then either any WAY less population.

Again shark fantatics want nets taken down.
    http://www.supportoursharks.com/en/Conservation/Threats_to_sharks/Shark_Nets.htm
They KNOW that these nets would never make gw sharks go extinct, but they value a few dead fish of a few human lives. Period. Since putting in those nets in 1937, shark number have risen dramatically. Forget making sharks go extinct. Oh a few fish get caught in the net....boohoo. Your family member or a fish? Which is more important lunatics. Oh and they're arguing that increased safety is because sharks get caught in the net...NO ****. lol

Now do shark nets completely take away risk? Of course not. You should also be culling near shore shore waters near beaches in a controlled fashion. No reason to waste shark meat either. Use it.

Anyone who's not a fringe conservationist can see through the lies and your average person doesn't have insane views about animals being more important than people. So that's my point of posting this.

    All the best

Soccer "leads" to death? lol If you look at VAST majority of these deaths it's due to a preexisting medical condition.(ie heart defect). It's like looking at cancer deaths and comparing them to sharks. It's irrelevant and if we had a cure for cancer, but it required use to kill sharks for the cure then I'd be all for it :)

It's like saying your local gold's gym is a death trap because people have heart attacks DUE to gold's gym. Again off the reservation here with meaningless nonsense meant to deflect. And i know full well Zach that you agree with me and Know I'm right on this ONE issue. But you want to pile on because you hate me

Oh and I'm not using scare tactics or hyperbole. I'm looking at real facts. I know damn well that my risk of attack in southern california or nj is probably same as getting struck by lightning. But no way in hell is like that in areas of south africa or Australia. Just B.S. The conservationist are selling lies.

Exactly. Anyone with half a brain in their head could see that. But they have an agenda so they LIE. It's the equivalent of looking at people who climb Everest and saying they have the same death rate as your average hiker who hikes the mountains on the appalacian trail. It's absurd and to lump them all into one statistical category makes the entire thing meaningless. Thus the lightning statistic used by the shark nutcases is a bold faced manipulation. Your average person in queensland Australia probably goes to the beach a few weekends a year and goes in the water for 10 minutes. And of course there are people that don't go the beach at all. Hell in the absurd lightning statistics they're including all of inland area's in the U.S. where many people have never even been to the ocean. And they're going to compare that to some guy who goes 6 days a week and sits at the edge of sandbar at dawn waiting for outside sets in Australia? Give me a break

But you're talking about places that use these methods. SA has nets and OZ just had a cull (which did jack sh!t).

Oh and you guys have lost all credibility anyway because you've already admitted you attacked body boarding solely because you don't like me. So it's not even my issue, but ME. That's fine. Hate me.

Oh and on any forum on the internet, a group opinion from about 10 people forms and they tend to ban anyone who deviates from that. Like minded people tend to congregate no matter how fringe their opinions are. Doesn't matter what the forum is about. It always exists. Thanks for at least giving me free speech and not banning me like many have asked for.

They never caught any whites. So they never culled any whites. It was a joke.

But we are off track here as people have tried to deflect. My original statement is that lightning statistics is B.S.

Maybe people should stay the F off the highway if they can't handle the risk of a drunk driver. Free country! Make DUI legal!(sarcasm)
People come before fish. I know I'm so sick. I value my mother over a fish. What a maniac!

6 posts....LOL WHO do we have here?

THe TRUE apex predator in the ocean is not the GW shark anyway. It's the orca. Orca's have been filmed HUNTING full grown GW sharks.

After the orca at the top of course is me, the shark-hunter, the ultimate apex predator ON EARTH! ;) HELL YEAH! LOL

Actually hate to break it to you, but humans are the apex species on earth. Period. Our brains, which are a natural evolution, have allowed us to outsmart all our competition and become the top predator on earth. We ALLOW other animals to not go extinct. We could wipe out any non-insect animals very quickly if we wanted to.

Yes! Yes! Yes! We are the best!

We could totally take the insects. Have you seen them? They're so tiny. I squish them all the time and I'm not even that tough outside the internet.
