The lightning statistics I posted are not B.S. They're facts... simple as that. You, of all people, should recognize that.

I posted them because I think they're more relevant to the posters here than your facts... which I believe are legit and do not deny, btw... but which could be misinterpreted, ironically, as YOU trying to manipulate and deflect. People around here should not be mislead into believing that they don't have to be concerned about getting struck by lightning... in the water or out. The threat is real. Know the facts. Be smart about it.

Oh wow. Uppers and downers huh?

How do you like kava? I've had some tea from the grocery store but I'm sure it's not the same effect. Kinda like domestic absinthe vs the real deal.

Pardon the derail. Let's get back to the SI 1000 ways to die.

A massive dose of uppers combined with a massive dose of downers, running around in a lightning storm with a 20 ft metal pole, in and out of the water with bait bags stapled to your legs. You'll be eligible for all kinds of statistical tragic deaths.

arguing w/ shar**** is like arguing w/ a barn door...though i suspect you might actually get somewhere w/ the barn door.

mixing uppers and downers seems like one of the 1000 ways to die

kava is great, its like a subtle percocet without the ick

Also, order it online for the real deal powered root, get an industrial coffee filter and follow the online instructions, its legit, but be sober and empty stomach to feel it, its subtle, but nice

I didn't read through the 7 pages so I have no idea whats going on,but anyway I look at sharks like dogs of the sea.not little dogs, real dogs.u wouldn't go up to a random dog that's big and scary and try to pet it.dogs sense fear,I imagine sharks do the same.sharks have poor eye sight, they travel off of vibrations in the water.i always thought the best thing to do if ur in the water on a board and a shark swims by,jump off the board and swim deep in the water.sharks rarely attack stuff that's underwater, great whites anyway.but then again I never encountered a shark so everything im sayin is probly wrong, but hey when the day comes ima play it cool

People underestimate danger of lightning ABSOLUTELY AGREE. Florida is a prime example of a place that needs more lightning risk education and they do provide that.

That being said, if you're a surfer in new south wales or queensland than that is a great risk getting attacked by a shark than of dying by lightning. They're both possibilities obviously.

1)Visit ANY beach and watch the bathers. They don't spend as much in water on average as surfers. Most time is spent tanning. All statistics show surfers at greater risk of attack.
2)I already posted the link and even people that are against nets admit lives have been saved due to reduced number of sharks(ie sharks caught in net)
    3) Based on facts. Nets were put in place in 1937 and in the last few decades with nets still in place GW shark numbers are very high. They've gone UP. We've had nets for 70 plus years with no drop in shark population and no extinction. Just look how long it took for beavers and bison to nearly go extinct. Same with wolves due to overhunting. This is clearly not the case with shark nets in high risk areas. If this were the case we wouldn't be able to do commercial fishing.

Bravo Metard... your use of clips in the first few pages of this thread truely had me in stitches. Very funny.

Oh and I must ask the million dollar question. Are all of you just arguing with me because you don't like me even though you know I'm right? DING DING. You've already admitted this about bodyboarding. So your credibility is out the window. Have fun though with the 15 on 1. Honestly if you have a 15 on 1 debate, it's really easy to win. The fact that I'm kind of destroying your arguments is easy because of obvious lies. All anyone needs to do is basic math and look at number of attacks.

White shark #'s are not up in the last 70 years. They are way down... They may have gone up recently since declared endangered/threatened, but from the early 1900's to now they have dropped dramatically.

Even Frank Mundus (the real Shark Hunter) quit fishing for them and preached conservation because "there we no more sharks"

Turn to the closest mirror and ask yourself if you're just arguing with SI because you don't like the users on the SI forum.

Before you do this, please try to remember all the times you've declared your hatred for the users on the SI forum.

You just made my point. Numbers increasing while nets still in place.

Yes. Absolutely. But at the same time I'm saying what I truly believe is the truth. I would also state this stuff to people I like, but I would never be personally attacking people. I'm doing that because it was done to me first. They started the personal attacks and did it repeatedly. That's what most people do on internet forums when they disagree. Unfortunately. Most forums I'd be banned because I went against average opinion of a few posters.

You just said, "Based on facts. Nets were put in place in 1937 and in the last few decades with nets still in place GW shark numbers are very high. They've gone UP. We've had nets for 70 plus years with no drop in shark population and no extinction."

That is false... I may be due to fishing, but the population is not up, it's way down.
