Competition breeds anger. Why, last year Seldom Seen wouldn't talk to me for months after he got second to me in Member Of The Year. I cried every night. The title just wasn't worth it.

And I feel that this precursor was in bad judgement because it's so far from the award date. People are going to get hyped now, and then be out-of-steam by December. These dudes are totally fickle on here. You should have waited until Halloween and built-up momentum. Hey, if you need anymore unsolicited advice, you know where to find me.......maybe. I disappear a lot.

 

Dude, I was so pissed. I mean, it wasn't so much that I was number two but the landslide victory that it was really hurt. Still stings.

But see, Spicoli comes off as some wildly enthusiastic man of stoke. But he is angry. Very angry. He may have personality disorders because if you read his stuff from his first appearance on here, up until now - you will see quite a many differences.

I liked the old "Intellectual Spicoli" the best. Like, he wrote the most wonderful props to MA against some Hawaiian douche bag one time. It was so perfectly written, I didn't know what to say. I still don't. He just nailed it. Now, it's like he's like a surfing Dog the Bounty Hunter.

But anyways, Spicoli is trying to drive wedges between the members so people will fight and get their feelings hurt. He is a sadist in the most clothed state of dress.

Member of the Year (MOTY) - Zach619, He's definitely stepped up his game this year. His posts at times can be verbose but almost always hit the nail on the head and are generally a good read, I rarely disagree with a post of Zach's, although I throw a jab here and there when I see one that requires it.

Rookie of the Year (ROTY) - metard. Gotta agree with Metard being the lock on this one. His account may be an alias of a former SI brethren (haven't decided who yet), but either way, he definitely brings it pound for pound in the brevity category. (If i'm wrong on the alias thing please accept my apologies, just a hunch I had)

Kook of the Year (KOTY) - SharkC*nter, as much as it kills me to even nominate him for ANY award, there really is no contest for the #1 kook. Maybe it's an honor to him, but either way, you can't deny his kookiness.

Bromance of the Year (BOTY) - SIadmin & SharkC*nter, how obvious is it that he got away with murder because he too is a boogie boarder? Either they are in a relationship together or they are the same person, you decide...

Conspiracy of the Year (COTY) - SIadmin, how many alias / troll accounts does he use to stir the pot and get web click / traffic up? How many ads will he allow on this site to make a buck? How does the infraction system work? Do you get a free pass if you lay down? Do you get perma banned if you are a popular SI character that everybody loves?

Member Achievement of the Year (MATY) - kurebeachsurfer, i'm going out on a limb here, but I think he's going to break the Guiness Book record for the longest surf session this year.

Whoa! Another award for wahine of the year! I was hoping for Hottie of the Year, having thought that was what HOTY stood for,but then when Yankee got HOTY award, a light bulb went off, and realized it was Hater, not Hottie--- or is it? Could it be that Yankee is actually a hottie, not a hater?
