took my wife and nieces to ocean city new jersey today. love it there, south being my preferred end for the relatively relaxed vibe. heading down west avenue, a pedestrian approached the corner. i didn't know what his next move was going to be, but i sure did not expect him to meander into traffic. being in a car, on a road, not at a stop sign, i thought the right of way was mine. the pedestrian shot me a dirty look because in ocean city there are usually two kinds of people on foot: the touron/kook/shoob/whateveryoulike who feels entitled due to the ridiculous amount of money they are paying to stay the week, and the locals who cling to the whole 'i do what i want in my town' way of thinking. as it turns out, there is a third kind of pedestrian these days. he was an undercover cop on a mission to weed out potential criminals who don't slam on their brakes if it appears someone on or near a street corner may be thinking about toying with the idea to casually stroll out into traffic without doing that thing they were, or at least should have been taught as a child, which is to look both ways. sure enough 50ft down the road i was waved in, ironically, by a uniformed officer who just walked right out in front of my car pointing to the shoulder. after being pulled over, giving my ID and my wife giving hers, and giving the ages of our nieces, and having both of our names run through their computers to make sure "you don't owe anything to the state" we were let go. he was kind enough to only give me a $54 dollar ticket for not having my niece in a car seat. she is 7, and apparently the law now says 8 and under requires a car seat. that is fine, what the ******** ever, but he acted as though he was doing me a favor. you see, a ticket for not stopping for a pedestrian is much more expensive and gets you two points on your license. what the actual ****? now don't get me wrong, i dont want free reign to mow down idiots who are in the crosswalk and just going too slow for my taste, which happens all the time. with that, i deal. this rule is saying that IF a person is at the corner and, i guess, looking at the intersection like they want to cross, you must hit the brakes as hard as you need to (this is a 35mph road) to stop, assuming they will go whether you stop or not. i could go on for much longer, saying things like 'darwin is rolling over in his grave', and 'will the city of ocean city reimburse me when i get rear-ended for stopping for what appears to be no reason to the person behind me?' i wont, though, because i've spent far too much time typing already. what i will do from now on is whenever i am on foot, i will **** with traffic so goddamn badly they will rue the day this law was passed, and as a driver i will stop at ridiculous times and places 'just in case' that person standing at or near the corner wants to cross. if i don't make the system work for me, i will surely kill myself before i can rationalize what good this could possibly do for a world already full of oblivious retards. thank you and good day.
those cops are to generate revenue ,not to serve and protect. next time just ask him how may speeds his police bicycle has and tell him you like the helmet! also don't forget to ask him if he has ever even arrested anybody. I have village/ town and even park police pulling me over all the time because of stupid **** like having stuff hanging from my rear view mirror!! I always give them a hard time because in a real emergency I know they will never actually show up, the county police will.
Handing out tickets and taking reports, that's about all they're good for. It's like they don't even know what detective work is anymore. Pretty recently in the news in Hampton, VA...on 64E just before HRBT I was just behind a woman who was shot in her car in crossfire on the highway by some thugs. They STILL have not been able to find who did it. That stretch of 64 and the exit ramp areas have no less than 6 VDOT cams that would have easily caught them on tape, not mention security cams at the insp. station, and all the surrounding businesses. Those troopers have no problem fishing from the shoulder during slow traffic everyday for expired tags and insp. stickers in that same spot, mucking up the already bad traffic right before the tunnel. Except on this particular day traffic wasn't too bad...so of course no trooper right there where it happened since there was no real potential for sitting on his can just waiting for an inspection a couple days expired to crawl by. When it comes to catching some real criminals for a change they're nothing but a bag of excuses about how police work isn't easy. And people wonder why so many people are armed these days.
its not a law but only a statute. truth is the US is a corporation not a country. (Act of 1871) to protect and serve means to protect and serve the corporation. if the officer explains why that you were pulled over for not yielding to a pedestrian and asks you if you understand this you should always say no I don't. once you say yes you agree to give the officer jurisdiction over you and the right to enforce the code set forth by the corporation. the police speak in legalese which is a language separate from the English language. http://thelawdictionary.org/understanding/ if you were given a ticket you can go to court and state for the record that you represent yourself under the jurisdiction of common law. than ask the judge to provide proof over such jurisdiction. they cannot provide such as they are only court administrators to enforce code under the corporation. http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/slavery-by-consent/
In OCMD you will get pulled over for that as well. Failure to yield to a pedestrian in a cross walk. It's a stupid law that encourages pedestrians to take chances that any normal person wouldn't. Think about it 2 lanes of traffic and someone steps out, I'm in the right lane and yield, my car blocks the view of the car in the left lane and the pedestrian walks from in front of my car right into the path of another. Yeah good law right ?
haha cmon man, do you really think that is going to hold up in court.....i assume your a sovereign citizen? This is the new trend now, you can see it all over youtube. People are using hidden cameras and questioning police authority. Yes, a very small percentage is legit, however, most is pure comedy.
Whenever a white girl gets killed in New Jersey, they pass legislation outlawing what ever situation lead to her death. This newer pedestrian law? Yep, created for a young New Jersey woman who has problems crossing the street which led to her untimely death. Oh man, there was this excellent piece in The Hammonton Gazette two Wednesday's ago....the Letter-to-the-Editor section. It touched upon this scenario, and then gave it to the elephants but good. Oh man, it was fantastic.
That sounds good and all Archy, but that stuff only works on TV. No municipal judge is going to listen to that. I know you speak right, Archy. You speak right, but things don't always work "right" in court.
pedestrians always have the right of way in nj,don't be fooled.sounds metarded, but that's the law.especially if ur near the beach,it doesn't matter if they are crossing ocean ave miles from a traffic light or shoppers leaving the supermarket,u don't stop u get a ticket. theres very few things u cant get a ticket for.i know I received my share of bs tickets.i went through an orange light, not a red,and got a ticket for having an air freshner hanging from the mirror.i was parked next to the corner store in my town, cop says I cant park there,he actually walked up on me and gave me a ticket for not having my change of address on my liscense.it turned out I had the stickers for change of address in my glovebox, put it on and still got a ticket, but I went to court and beat it when the officer said I did put it on.my worst was getting pulled over 5 am on my way to work for going 5mph over the speed limit, and this fukin cop said hed give me a break and write me a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt, while I was wearing a seatbelt.i looked at the pig like he was an alien and said are u serious??he said u want the speeding ticket instead.i could've probably beat the ticket in court, but taking a day off losing a days pay to not pay a 54 ticket didn't make sense.that's Amerikkka people, the cops are phuking metards!!!
I'm sure all the surviving family members of police officers who were killed in 9/11, trying to save others would appreciate the last sentence of your response. Or maybe the officer who got shot in Lakewood while in his patrol vehicle, if he was still here today I'm sure he would appreciate that comment as well.... Your comments = total ignorance.
9/11 has nothing to do with government pawns enforcing, over zealously, ridiculous laws - using "power" to intimidate, harass and exploit fine citizens like Cepriano. You know, that po-lice from Lakewood would still be alive today if it wasn't for our asinine drug laws. Our drug laws have ruined American lives, and destroyed the balance of fine countries like Colombia and Mexico. People complain aboot Mexican immigration? Well, look what our Drug Laws have done to that country. Mexico makes Detroit and Chicago look tame and peaceful. Look, the government created The Game. So, when poor African American youth get involved in The Game, none of their offenses should be crimes. It's just part of The Game. Drug turf shoot-outs? No crime there, just part of The Game. Plus, we all know that no police should surf. Right? We all know that right? Yes, in theory our men and women who serve in local and state law enforcement should be recognized as heroes. But for each life they save, they ruin 100 others. They are so gung-ho in catching people with drugs, it borders on complete obsession. I'll never understand it. Fines and jail don't solve addiction problems. Jail just becomes part of "The Game" for the addicted. When, oh when, will people have sense and make me the friendly dictator of this country. After a brief period of "Party Cleansing" I'd be the friendliest, nicest dictator the world has ever seen. Free weed and pizza for everyone. No, really, I'd run such a wonderful world, you have no idea. What? Oh, corporations don't like that they are going to actually pay taxes under my regime. Oh no, Firm X's, CEO's daughter just had a horrible "accident." What? Firm D is thinking of moving their base of operations overseas for lower taxes? Oh no, Firm D's CEO's wife just had an "accident" Terrible. Oh well, I guess your profits will have to be 3.5 billion instead of 4 billion because you ain't leaving my country, crackers. Yep, that's the way you play that game.
YEAH, LITTLE RICKY TELL 'EM !! Dude, I'm totally busting out the NWA right now......I'm all hyped with anti-police sentiments right now.
My wife got a ticket for fouling the crosswalk. I told her to tell them she wanted a trial by jury. She did and the lady behind the glass made a call and got the ticket dismissed. If they wanna give stupid tickets you can make it as expensive as possible for them to get their money.
Idiot, read my comment.....i was referring to the last statement cepriano made in his sophomoric response ("that's Amerikkka people, the cops are phuking metards!!!"). In my eyes that is a generic statement targeting all police and my reply about 9/11 has everything to do with that. His statement is a direct insult to all those men and women. Little Ricky, in response to the officer killed in Lakewood....he was sitting in his patrol vehicle attempting to conduct a field inquiry with someone walking down the street. The person walked over to his vehicle and shot him in the head 3 times. The apparent motive behind the shooting was because the suspect simply did not like police. That same scumbag shot a 20 yr old 5 times and killed him months earlier. WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE DRUG WAR. Then you went on a tangent about Mexico, WTF????!!!!!! Let me guess, you know Mexico makes everywhere else look so peaceful because you have spent soooo much time their with all the locals and the drug cartels, right? Because your a taxpayer, your exempt from all laws? Dude, if that's your view, go move to Manitoba where you can have no human interaction for the rest of your life. Let's set the record straight. There are isolated incidents all over the country of police corruption. I 100% agree that the shore towns in NJ issue tickets tenfold than they do in the off-season. I am fully aware of all this and have experienced it. My argument is that the general public dislikes police because the media focuses on the isolated incidents and/or most people have had a bad experience with the police at least once in their life (e.g. speeding ticket, underage drinking ticket). Because of this, people seem to forget all the good police do, they like to focus on the negative. Obviously your aggro because you've had more than one bad experience with police. Let me guess, it wasn't your fault? waaaaahhhh wahhhhhh wahhhhh!!!! You want some cheese with that whine? cool bro, crank your NWA, that's so bro
Hey, what's your point aboot 9/11, Cepriano's last comment and my 9/11 comment? How does that make me an idiot? I didn't know they were all dependent on each other. You mentioned 9/11. 9/11 has NOTHING to do with the ordinary days of police officers. And don't ever call me an idiot or I'll.......... Hey, I mentioned the Drug War stuff, not Little Ricky. The dude in Lakewood had drug related warrants, and the cop thought he was wanted. So he stopped him and tried to run his name and stuff. The dude did what "those" people do when they have warrants. Oh man, another nod to the "Blacks can't surf" thread. Manitoba? Leave the Canadians out of this. I'm not whining, and I'm not going insane like you appear to be. My incidents with police have been lovely. Good times.....good times. Except for North Carolina. Those Outer Banks cops are friggin' cowboys, who wouldn't last in a real area. Oh, I do like Philly cops, let me get that on record. Hey abc123 go donate some money to your local PBA association. You might be the most excitable moron I have ever encountered on here. None of your "points" make any sense. My comments were lucid and relevant. All cops do these days is hunt for drug suspects. That's practically all they do. So, the comments I made in reference to the police and the effects of America's War on Drugs are perfectly appropriate. F the police coming straight from the underground Young cracker got it bad because I think I'm brown and not the other color........ And don't call me "bro" either. NO dude, most people who don't like the police, feel that way because of actual experience. It has NOTHING to do with the media. Dude, the media makes the police out to be knights in shinning armor. Dude, go play on your swing set. God, I hope you are a kid at least that would be some excuse. Taxpayers get to ignore laws? Where did you come up with that one? MIS13, did you hear that? Yes, I pay taxes and create my own laws. Dude, if I wanted to ignore all laws I wouldn't pay taxes. Man, youse backwards as hells, man. No idea of what you speak. And my previous message wasn't aggro at all. God damn no one can read tone on this damn computer.
