Non conformists? The O-bots drink the kool aid worse than any GOP lockstep lackey. Coexist, hope and change, yes we can, looked like 1939 Nuremberg rallies in that campaign. Those people couldn't tell me what the federalist papers were of they had to, yet they vote and dictate policy towards the foundation of this country. "Fair share", yet have the economics understanding of a six year old. Non conformists are independent thinkers, anarchists, libertarians, anarcho capitalists, minarchists. Not dems or republicans. They pound that kool aid man.
Oh that's comforting. Another omniscient, unaccountable ruler hellbent of using the constitution as toilet paper. Go to Western European style socialism they said. It will be fun they said. What could go wrong they said. Ask a Greek. For the record. I don't want the GOP or the dems to win. Neither. Hate them both equally.
My daughter is almost three. I put her in "part time" pre, pre school, in a private school. Brother, its already a second mortgage payment each month and she is 3... Regardless of most of my "political or economic, social viewpoints", one thing that I agree on in this country, is that the majority of our socio-economic problems have one common root, lack of education. Lack of education == CRIME Lack of education == VIOLENCE Lack of education == POVERTY Lack of education == MEMBERSHIP IN THE WELFARE SYSTEM It is at the root of all things in this nation. We already have a dysfunctional educational system. To remove the public education taxes and system would, within a couple decades collapse everything we know. I am just saying, next time you are driving through Philly, or Baltimore, or the southside of Wilmington, since it's closer, stop and ask the first guy you see on the corner, who is obviously "hustling", stop and ask him what level of education has. I would think you may be hard pressed to find a high school graduate, on any corner in Baltimore, if they are out hustling..... So, if you want that kind of cancer to spread down to WB and coastal NC, then stop paying for education. At least the kids in the inner city have the OPTION to get an education, and god bless the handful every year that do graduate, and go out into the work force and become productive members of society. It is inherently wrong to not give CHLIDREN a level playing field. Yes, inner city public school are going to have a terrible curriculum compared to those in the burbs or Conneticut. But all children are created equally. I don't care how bad their home life is, or if their mother is a junky, out in the streets. Education is a must, and children deserve a safe, place of protection through the dark, cold days of the world. No matter how f'ed up the real world may be, every child deserves to opportunity to learn and flourish and change the wrongs that have been done to them.... Private School > Public Schools > No Schools Havent made a decision yet, but I will most likely send my daughter to private school at first, and closer to middle school etc, I will re-evaluate and see what she wants to do. I think there is a pretty heavy, social aspect that is overlooked and unseen by many individuals who attend private school. I did a few years in Catholic school as a young kid, 3rd adn 4th grade. Some of my friends from that Catholic School continued going there until high school. I think sophomore year, they transferred in to my school, and it was the most horrific transition I had ever seen. I mean, I felt obligated to take them under my wing and make sure they didn't get the social buzz saw from the student body. They had to adapt quickly, but in a short time, blended into the masses..... There is a fine line between the lack of exposure private schools offer and the reality of the world we live in... I mean, come on guys, any of you that went to college could answer this... But what was your favorite type of girl in college? The one you met, that was super hot, then she drops the bomb... "I went to catholic school my whole life"... SCORE, your brain says, cause you know there is a 99.9% chance that this poor, unsuspecting girl is going to drop trow and become an absolute FREAK at the first sign of fun...... Its scary..... But anyway, back to the topic. I understand Metards feelings on this. But with that being said, we would all nickel and dime the government if we could..... "My car broke down last week. I don't drive, so I don't want to pay taxes that go to roads, I shouldn't have to." "I don't want to pay social security tax, because I don't even play on needing it, so I shouldnt have to" "I don't want ANY of my tax money going towards military funding, because I don't agree with war" "I don't want to pay taxes this year, because Obama is going to steal my money and give it to poor people" "I shouldn't have to pay Obama a penalty, when I am healthy and don't want health care" ..... I thin you see where I am going with all that. We can't pick and choose. And if you don't like the current state of America, go back to school, get a Poli-Sci degree, get into the field and maybe 20 years from now, you can be a decision make in congress and change the way the country works..... Its all or nothing. Can't pick and choose. And I think Education is probably only second to Military funding in the US. It isn't going anywhere. People of all colors, creeds and upbringings all agree. I think.
And please, can we all stop pretending that there is ANY difference whatsoever with Democrats and Republicans. The only distinction, is which side of ridiculous arguments, that have no real impact on most of our society, that they stand on. It doesn't matter. Some conservatives don't like gay marriage, some of them don't care. Some liberals don't like legalization of pot, some don't care. Some liberals want tighter immigration laws, so do some of the republicans.... I think we are living about 15 years ago with these DEM vs REP arguments. Republicans shouldn't surf... yada yada. non sense. The only difference is what each party lies to us about. Each side is the same. Over and over. In every way.... If a democrat was president during 9/11, they would have invaded Iraq. The nation's economy would have collapsed as well.... Democrats and Republicans have the same general advisory forces giving them intel and suggestions.... Its all fake. Its all a joke. It doesn't matter who is in office. It's the giant government machine that is at the helm, at that is neither Liberal, nor Conservative. The only difference is the face that stands behind the podium... The President, in a nutshell is just a PR rep. They just give you a face, to associate all of your love or hate with.... If McCain would have been in office, yeah, we wouldn't have this phony healthcare "system" in place. And we would have a giant, concrete wall that is 10000 feet tall from Texas to California, meanwhile there will still be thousands of tunnels underneath.... But thats about it... Bin Laden woulda got merked. People would have started buying houses again.... The economy would slowly grow. The US would have still only tied Portugal last night.... None of it matters. And the only reason you guys haven't seen so many republicans in the water over the years, is because republican's actually work and contribute financially to this great country we call "Mericka" You know where to hide something from a Democrat so they will never find it? Put it in their work boots. They will be long gone before anyone ever finds it.
Zach... Before you make a decision on what to do with your daughter's education, know that the disparity between the "haves" and "have nots," when it comes to education, grows with age. In other words, wealthy and poor children perform the same in the lower grades by nearly all indicators. The differences appear later, in the higher grades, and are most dramatic in high school, where wealthy children outperform poor children, by all indicators, whether they're enrolled in public or private schools. So spending your money on private school in the lower grades does not get you much bang for your buck, statistically speaking. But if you know your local schools, and make that choice based on who you want your kid to share a classroom with, who you want their teacher to be, and what curriculum they offer, then you have the right to do so in this country. But if you look at the statistics, you're better off saving that money for college.
The non conformist mention in my post was separate from politics and was referenced to the system. And yes, ZACH, there is a huge difference between republicans and democrats. Republicans are either rich evil people or dumb hicks. Like all the conservative TV/radio loudmouths(Rush, Beck) are college drop outs who did FM pop radio. Liberal loudmouths graduated from Stanford and Columbia. Republicans want to force you to give birth to that rape child you're carrying. Republicans want kids to starve because they're "lazy." Everything is aboot dollars and cents with republicans. Yeah liberal politicians like money too, BUT they will feed the hungry and shelter the homeless if given the chance. There's a big f'ing difference. Ok, Michael JR, let's link non conformity into this now. A non-conformist can survive under the democrats. The republicans would want him/her dead. Oh who are the o-bots? Ummm, yeah I don't think Obama's followers could in any way be compared to Nazi Germany, Michael JR. See that's something a dumb republican would say. Most of your anarchists, libertarians pound the Kool Aid too They just talk a bunch of sh!t that sounds edgy, but most of them tow the line. Actually I don't even know what Kool Aid you're talking aboot. There's been plenty of social-minded politicians on the left who weren't drinking any Kool Aid. And repubs are less on the Kool Aid. Right, that's why the republicans MAIN ISSUE since OBAMA was elected was trying to make Obama a ONE TERM president and then BLOCKING EVERYTHING after his second election. That really serves the country well, when that's their whole point of business for the last 6 years. They invented the Kool Aid and have a huge drinking problem. And dudes, repubs and dems, 80% of our laws are unconstitutional so let's not keep throwing the constitution up on particular issues. It's all f'ing unconstitutional.
Well ax a German......I believe they are doing pretty good. Or ax a Hollander or a Swedish or a Finish or any of them Scandinavian sob's. They have the most "Social Services" and yet somehow enjoy the highest qualities of life. Go figure. Try and find a Detroit or a East St. Louis in Holland or Norway. They take care of their people and EVERYBODY benefits. Dude, the constitution is a joke. It was written hundreds of years ago in another time, another place and another galaxy. It's inherent message is great but when it comes to specifics how could it possibly translate into today's world. Shoot, I don't even have a powdered wig.
Now THIS I can get on board with you on 100%. We've been getting the proverbial shaft from both sides since we stopped our neutrality policy pre-ww1. Actually, the beginning of the end could be traced back to lincoln, but that's a different conversation (which I love to have, hint hint). We live under the guise of a Republic, when in fact it's a puppet government run by a select few, both on the left and right, who more than likely share financial tips and have VSOP together on weekends with imported cuban tobacco and sushi eaten off of sex slaves. We're being duped. Look as us now. Arguing over policies that have repeatedly been implemented equally by BOTH sides. Same script, different cast.
That is my point. There are a FEW, ridiculous scenarios that polarize the parties. And BOTH parties thrive on this. Which is why I gave my Obamacare/Giant Brick Border Wall reference. It's a couple, hot button issues that are all over the media, and the end game is that none of it "really" matters and no one really has any intentions of changing any of it. They just bring up the sore subjects, basically smear campaigns KNOWING that the opposition has no choice but to admit that this is their stance. Its one big song and dance, to the same music. It's the same sh** to me man. I think every republican and democrat, in reality, agree on 95% of every issue or topic in this nation. It's that 5% that polarizes things, and that 5% really doesn't matter, because like I said, no one has intentions of changing it. And its all about numbers in the senate, and congress... It has always been that way. It's not every presidential term that you see so many things getting blocked, but you also haven't seen such radical ideas come through in a while, and meet such opposing numbers as far as getting it passed. Dems block Reps and Reps block Dems. Thats how it always has been. They did it to Bush, but the numbers were different and every now and again, like Obama does now, Bush had to say, you know what? F it, I am doing it regardless of what you say.... I agree with a lot of the things you are discussing, but this whole "labeling" of parties and it's occupants aren't my cup of tea. Sure, if you watch Bill Maher, you will see a loaded deck panel with extreme views. Fox News does whatever they see fit based on viewership analysis. If most of their ratings come from Bible Belt right wingers, who do you think they are going to put on TV and what do you think they are going to say? Parties, as we know them will go away. No more electoral College. This will eventually go in the direction that they were meant to. These archaic practices that we use are noble, but outdated and have a very poor application at this point.... I just side with no one. I think both sides, when you get down to their rhetoric, or those 3-4 hot button issues about abortion, or gay marriage or whatever the damn religious based opinions are at this day in age, are full of sh**. Period. to both sides: "None of y'all are 'bout sh**!"
The constitution is NOT a joke. It's the only reason we've lasted this long, and the erosion of it will more than likely spell our demise. Ask the Romans, declare the legislative branch null, centralize gov and power....and get sacked by tribes from the north in a few months. Abandon ones virtues, lose your identity and purpose. I always tell people to read the federalist papers. We base the majority of supreme court decisions upon translation and application of said document to the issue at hand. One cannot understand the constitution nor it's purpose without first understanding the document that 'sold' it, getting rid of the articles of confederation. Problem is....you would be fine amending the constitution. You're a liberal. By doing so, you leave that door open....wide open....for whomever comes next. So....let's say...Cheney 2.0 comes along. Follows suit. Makes a few 'tweaks' of his own. Will you share the same sentiment? Still okay with opening the scariest slippery slope one could possibly imagine?
Listen, Michael Jr, I hear you on all that stuff. But here's where I am. I'm not joining a militia in Michigan to overthrow the government with my AR15. Corporate America (money) owns and dictates much of our politics...... But as I said, I'm not joining an anti-government militia anytime soon. I don't even have any tattoos SO, therefore, the party that may earn bucks behind the scenes, but AT LEAST tries to throw the common man a bone, is currently the Democrats. Listen, people constantly complain aboot our two party system BUT THEY NEVER VOTE ANY OTHER WAY !! So, until I see that changing, I have to do my part to crush the god damn republicans. And I'll tell all y'all this, I DO fantasize aboot doing violence to them. I really do. I dream of it constantly. I won't do no violence, but I dream aboot it. Repeat, I will do no violence. I'm just a dreamer.
Dude the constitution has already been tweaked. I suffer from unconstitutional laws. Every arrest I have had is unconstitutional. The problem is that your type, who claim to hate both parties, always seem to be closeted republicans as y'all blame everything on liberals. The republicans are more oppressive to freedom than the democrats. Go look at all of our LAWS and see who enacted the most oppressive ones. Progressive cities? Was Detroit classified a "Progressive City" when it was booming? Or is it just classified a "Progressive City" once corporate America decided to save money by producing goods overseas, and the bottom of Detroit fell out? And many of these "Progressive City/Ghettoes" are in Conservative run states. The governor trumps the mayor. Scandinavians are irrelevant? Irrelevant to whom or what. They are doing quite ok no matter how irrelevant they are to capitalist America.
Here's what we need to do. Everybody on this forum who is against the two party system, refuse to vote for either side. Let's all vote on SI who we shall "write in" on the ballot. Once the SI primary vote is complete, we can all send in the same "written in" vote and refuse to vote for either Dem. or Repub., which i'm 100% in favor of. Which reminds me, I need to change my party affiliation to Independent.
I will not inquire about your voting, as that would be taboo... But we all suffer from the same predicament every time we vote.... Sure, it sounds well and good to be independent. Register how ever you want. But then, you have ZERO control over what is ACTUALLY going to happen. To me, voting independent at this point in our country, is like not voting at all. Its the same theory. I will NOT contribute to those that I disagree with, but when you vote drops in with less than 1% of the nation, it falls on deaf ears. It doesn't matter. I know, I am not a noble man for saying that, but it's the reality. If you don't like what may come of the Democratic candidates, there is only ONE way to truly help. That is to infiltrate their organization and use your vote for good.... Even if you disagree with both, you may as well choose a side and if nothing more, try and keep the BIGGER of the idiots from making it through the primaries. At the end of the day, in the "BIG VOTE", you can cast as you wish. But if you want to go the rouge independent route, you will be parked on the sidelines, while changes are being made and the future is being forged. I am all for doing what's right and thinking for yourself, but I want to choose my battles carefully. Why join a losing battle, when a loss is the only potential outcome. It might make me sleep at night a little better, but I won't be helping to change anything.... Pick the side you hate the most, join their ranks and try and shake things up. Prove that not all DEMS are this, or REPS are that. Be part of the solution.
What's wrong with militias? I wouldn't call any militia anti-gov. Most are overwhelmingly afghan/iraq vets, and bleed the red white and blue. They just have a major problem with the proverbial raping going on in DC. Might have a different approach to the such than the OWS folks...but their goals aren't so different. End the fed. Federal reserve is the source of all corruption in DC. I don't think the dems throw bones to anyone. They take money from Wall st just as much as the GOP. They'll increase social welfare programs a fraction of a percentage to make sure the urban base keeps checking 'D' on voting day. Meanwhile, launching more drones than bush, increasing prison population, NSA (don't get me started on that)....I'm just saying, demonizing the right might not be the best approach. Demonizing both will certainly do more than polarizing things further. As for violence, man you're a liberal, you don't have a mean bone in your body, I know you better than that already lol. It's a compliment. As for another option....don't count the Libertarians out yet. They are projected to win enough seats in 2014 to raise hell in what would otherwise be polarized votes on the hill. One thing you can count on in mid-term elections.....the johnny come lately dems and repubs don't show up....and Libertarians do. Our numbers have grown exponentially since the last election. Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Utah, NH, SD, Washington, Oregon....we will pick up seats. Even if we only snag 5....that's a partisan game changer. We are the middle ground. I'd really take a long look at them man, you might find yourself more aligned with them than the dems. One big advantage...we aren't corporate/lobby whores (one thing both sides are absurdly guilty of). I don't know if we have any candidates in NJ, I'll look into it for you. I'm sure if there are, some union boss will try to have Gino whack him hahaha
Tweaked with a major movement of congress. Article V is no joke. What I'm talking about is the blatant disregard for it....essentially ignoring it. As for being a closeted rebub: I'm pro drug law reform (legalize it all), pro-gay marriage, pro-gun, pro-business, anti-crony corporate capitalism, pro clean energy, anti-war. Couldn't be further from the left OR right if I had to be. As for Scandinavians...meh. It's a society of mediocrity. Again, it's a cultural thing. I forget which one it is, but one of those countries...over achievement is frowned upon culturally. They discourage ventures. Apparently it's something they've always done....Anthony Bourdain did a show on scandanavia on his "parts unknown". Hit Sweden, Norway, Finland, etc. I really want to find the episode, it was pretty interesting. Met a restaurant owner that forriaged for most of the ingredients, it was wild. Apparently it is the talk for travelers, crazy original cuisine, but hardly any locals will eat there.
Alright Michael JR, I've had fun. Thanks for the debate. I didn't get angry and I hope you didn't. That's rare. I usually want to kill people when I talk politics, so I guess you can take that as a testament to your character. I'll be around later or tomorrow if you got any more points to make. But I got to go right now. I have never said this before, but I'm having a SI meltdown right now due to all the topics I have just posted aboot in the last hour. Molestation in white vans to the constitution. I'm spent, man. I got to go. I've got to go.
