Jacked up.

I think someone dropped that tick bomb on Hilton Head. Since our last conversation, I have not even been able to hang out in my back yard or on the patio. BBQing has been cancelled indefinitely at the Zach619 residence. The ticks are so bad, we literally can't walk outside. The next night that I went outside, after the thread I started on here, I was out, in my chair for about 30 minutes. Two hours later, I have been inside now for at least an hour and a half, I feel something on my arm. A f*&^ing tick. I dispose of it. Check myself, wake the wife up, check her. Go up to my daughters crib, check her... The following week, this was probably last weekend, I am outside putting steak on the grill. My wife walks outside through our slider. She is on our concrete patio, about 20 feet from where the yard is and 20 yards from the nearest tree. She says, "Is it safe for me to be out here". I reply, just stay in that chair, right by the door, the ticks won't come in that far.

I kid you not, the wife was outside for about 15 seconds, when I see a tick just appear on her elbow. She flicks it off, I turn the grill off and we head inside. I was like, how am I going to argue with that. A tick just literally jumped on her skin from like 30 feet away....

My buddy dropped off a bottle of some crazy sh** yesterday. He told my to put it in my pump sprayer and just hit my whole patio and back yard with it. He said it will keep every tick dead for like 3 months... Only problem is, I have a garden and stuff outside, so I don't want to be putting chemicals all over the organic fruit and veggies I got working out there....

I am at a standstill though. I have to do something. These ticks are insane. aggressive and EVERYWHERE. Didn't see one last year, but hadn't bought this house yet. I lived a couple miles away and I never saw ONE tick. Ever. Sh** ton of snakes and lizards. No ticks though.

 

Asian in countries in general have very little regard for their environment and animals we share the earth with. Very little environmental regulations on industries to start with.
Whale and dolphin meat is legally sold in Japan, see "The Cove" and the Sea Shepard battle with Japanese whalers. China has annual dog slaughters for meat. Explosive fishing on reefs is rampant in Indonesia. The ivory trade and elephant poaching is driven by the Asian market for ivory. Tiger ***** soup, shark fin soup, bear gall bladders, and other Chinese medicines made from rare or endangered species continues.
Their waters are completely fished out and they now scour the earth's oceans to meet their demands for seafood.
These countries need to wake up. The problem is the average Chinese person doesn't even know this kind of stuff is going on to bother protesting. Their information is so controlled by their repressive government.

 

Yeah, the chinese internet, and google crawl probably includes about 10 different websites, all run by the chinese government. I think google actually pulled their engine from china completely because China kept demanding that they regulate and filter everything the people see. Finally, I think google just said F you and took their software completely off the system.

I think North Korea and China share the same network. Search results only show articles about Kim Jong Il shooting 34 under par one day, with 10 security guards that witnessed it along with a bunch of Chinese government propaganda.

Their thought process is very different from western thinking. I don't care for it, in fact I think they're evil incarnate when measured by what they're doing to the global environment. This is some sick, sick shiiiite that they're done with whale sharks.

When the Chinese tried to eliminate dogs from one Chinese city, they sent dog murderers out at night. These people would bang on things as they walked the streets, listening for a barking dog in response. And then they would enter the homes & kill the dog. No exceptions.

The Chinese routinely skin dogs alive. Alive. It's supposed to make the fur softer for the human beatches who wear the creature.

The Chinese have a thousand year timeframe. American politicians have a two to four year timeframe. Pretty obvious who will win. The planet, and all creatures upon it, will suffer beyond belief.

The Chinese have already started to fight the war. Poisoning our pet food, poisoning our human food, poisoning our children's toys, poisoning our drywall (remember that one...?!!). They are shrwed, and patient. They realize that they don't need to fire bullets to win a war. The bullets are utilized to finish us off, at the end game.

Meanwhile, USA idiot politicians have our troops stomping all over useless places like Iraq & Afghanistan, for over a decade, wasting thousands of lives & bhundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars. Receiving exactly jack shiiiiite in return.

And what, pray tell, are the Chinese doing while the USA is flailing itself into a flag-waving coma...?

The last time that I was in Nicaragua, I was surprised by how many Chinese business types I saw in Managua and San Juan del Sur. I inquired. Turns out, the Chinese are buying up as much of the superb Nica fish processing plants, fishing boats & seafood export companies as they can. And then they ship that food to China to feed Chinese. In so doing, the Chinese prevent those food products from reaching other nations.

The classic is that the USA selected a Chinese firm to build a huge portion of the bridge in Oakland-SanFran. Brilliant, utterly brilliant.

American grandkids better learn Mandarin. They're gonna need it.

What do you think would be left of the "natural world" if 1.6 Billion Chinese lived at the same level of consumption and consumerism as the 300 million Americans?

Get off your high horses, you oil-sucking leeches. You're whining about dogs and sharks while the poles melt from the last 40 years of CO2 emissions from YOUR tailpipe and YOUR flights to CR/PR.

Asians, in general, do not consume 1/3rd of what their American counterparts do, and they will never catch up, lucky for us and the planet. Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and eventually China have negative population growth while westerners keep popping out little planet-killers who are each going to demand 1.5 cars, one 4+ hour airline flight a year, and six thousand tons of Walmart crap.

Do you pay for your trash by the bag? Do you separate compost for pickup? Does your 5-person family climate control more than 500sqft of house? Do you commute via bicycle or scooter? Is that a government-mandated solar water heater on top of your block of flats? Have you kicked out your climate-change-denying congressman? It's not a subject of "debate" in China--or anywhere else in the world.

0.5% of Americans spend an extra $50 a week to buy "organic" "local" groceries and suddenly we all think we're Jeebus-****ing-Chirst. 0.01% of the Chinese elite snort Tiger nad powder, and we say they're all the Great Satan. Gimme a break! Your average Vietnamese, Cambodian, Chinese, Indian, Taiwanese, or even Japanese is about a million times greener than ALL you Virtuous Vickies.

I'm no better than any other consumerist westerner, but at least I cop to it. We've crapped all over the planet much worse than any buch of dolphin-eaters. Wake up and smell your own hypocrisy.

 

The Chinese are building a canal to rival the Panama Canal, in Nica. It is run by a quasi arm of the Peoples Republic, called the China Mining and Dam Company or something like that. They want to control shipping in the Western Hemi, and open it up to larger vessels than the Panama Canal can accommodate. Parts of the route will go right though Lake Nicaragua.

Garlic powder repels insects. Use it in your gardens and around the house (perimeter). Could help and it is natural.

US oil imports are down 40% from 10 years ago. We are burning less and less each year.
Air quality in China is some of the worst in the world. Why do you think their people walk around with masks on?

That canal (built and owned by Chinese) will be one of the most environmental destructive creations ever undertaken, not to mention destroying many surf breaks.
