LBC, thanks for posting that up. Definitely agree with you, and the others (with the one exception, and you know who you are thread 'jacker).

Great post LBCrew - it definitely makes me think of all the gifts I sometimes take for granted. I just looked at some photos taken of my daughter and I on her first wave when she was about 6. Now she is 23. Time flies. Definitely take the time to smell the roses and offer thanks.

I know this sounds kinda gay, but when I surf I often notice rainbows. Sometimes in tiny water drops on my eyebrow or nose. Sometimes during offshore days there are big plumes of spray blown back off the tops of the crests of breaking waves that give forth brief rainbows the length of the lineup. It adds magical beauty to the act of waveriding.

The moon and gravity created it.
Edit: Forgot to give credit to the wind and weather front energy.

OP, I agree. Every time I look at the ocean, I remember how lucky I am to be here.

Rainbows in the spray on offshore days are the best!

I give sozohealer lots of credit. His son lives through his parents memories and as Mr sozohealer pointed out, he has a strong faith in God. It is hard to figure out reasons. We are only here for a blink of an eye. My heartfelt condolences go out to him and his family. Prayers and blessings.

You said it! Back to the post. Man tough loss. Kids are a blessing from God. We never know when are time is up here on this earth. Good to see the bond you 2 had through surfing and Je-us. We just need to remember that this is temporary and heaven is forever. This story sounds familiar, BTW are you in FLA? These are the real stories that make this forum special. If you ever need some convo, send me a PM.

Maybe kids are a blessing from Allah. Did you ever consider that?

You beat me to it brew. Wayne, belief in God does not necessarily = Jesus. What if he's Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, or something else? What if he's a polytheist like me?

    Such a douche.

Your entire post is demeaning to the guy. Just your tone by itself...and then you proceed to hijack the thread & make it into another one of your gratuitous advertisements for your fairy prince.....SMH

This^ every morning I have thoughts like this. I like the fact that the OP used the word beauty, but there's beauty on so many diffrent levels.

I heard this some where, maybe here....im not a surfer because I surf, I surf because I am a surfer. To me that means I'm not in this to obtain some sort of social status, I'm in this because I need it. Along as I can surf, every thing is all good. Take away everything. People, home, food. Throw me on a island with nothing but a board and some waves and I will live happily. Losing everything would hurt but if I'm still surfing, then I'm still positive, it's all good. And THAT is the most beautiful thing about surfing. That's powerful stuff, we all feel it. We may explain it in diffrent ways but everyone of us feels something special when we live our lives as surfers, and the fact that surfing could make so many people feel the indescribable feeling we all feel...That's beautiful

This thread is spot on for today. A beautiful afternoon of surfing 2-3 foot waves with friends. Close to four hours of it. Sun, clouds, offshores, onshores, kids screaming with stoke, old guys doing the same. Dolphins all around, saw one jump entirely out of the water. VERY thankful right now. Except for the sunburn.
