hoping to get some advice on what type of board I should get...right now I have a 7'0 fun board and I primarily surf in NJ, I'm looking for something smaller that can still ride the mush we usually have...was thinking of getting a fish but wasn't so sure on the type of brand and what not...im 5'11 180lbs, any advice would be great...probably somewhere between $300-400 range.

from what you've told us it sounds like a slightly used thruster maybe 6/4 or 6/6. new boards today
    $900 w/ tax and fins.

get a mini simmons, size will vary depending on what you're looking for but I'm 5'8 190-200 (depending on what time of year) and ride a 5'8" x 19" x 22" x 19.5" x 3"...it's probably a little bigger than what i "need" but i can sit outside with the longboarders for set waves with it. great board for the eastcoast, ride it 90% of the time.

Borrow your friends boards and see what you like.

Scour craigslist and your local shop.

Always lean towards going bigger instead of smaller because this is NJ.

I wouldn't get a twin fin fish if I were you, look for a thick round nosed board. RNF?

Make sure there are no previous dings, if there are, put it back on the rack and don't pick it back up.

HAHA so true. My buddy has a Fart Knocker that's pretty damn wide and floaty. Has the design of a twister board on it.
