Now I'm not a meteorolgist by any means, I can bearly spell the word haha, but where do you get your wind forecasts from, is it your own model or do you pull from various sources, (noaa etc?)
A Swellinfo proprietary algorithm is used for figuring out winds specifically along the coast (not on land).
Cool. I hope yur algorithm is right for friday morning in OCMD in it's prediction of light WNW winds. Both NWS and Accuweather are saying SW 15.
keep in mind that the morning forecast is an average range aiming around 8am. To get down and dirty for wind shifts take a look at the hourly forecast under the Weather section. You will see the Swellinfo wind forecast is calling for SW at 5am, W at 8am, and NW at 11am. So, the front will be moving through during the morning, and in any case it should be clean. Pretty soon I'll be making tutorials explaining all of the more advanced features.

weather stations showing WNW wind at 8am this morning. Is this what is was at the beach? Looked like it was SW at 7am, and then shifted to the W/WNW by 8.
Man...you guys were right on again. up at 5 a.m. and a little bummed by the sw wind on the buoy report but went anyway...7 - 9 a.m. session it was west at maybe 5 and clean and on the trip north later this morning noticed the wind had north in it. Swell was knee-waist high in OCMD.
