Haven't been in that area in a many, many years. But I was reading something from 2011 that indicated that S-Turns was basically gone after a big storm. Any truth to that? I had never heard that S-Turns got so jacked up it just doesn't work anymore.

S turn was right before Rodanthe. All that crap was washed away. I surfed Pea Island in the 80's. usually a mile s of the bridge. The dune was giant and steep on the ocean side. quite an ordeal finding a way back over after a long surf.

That was Fall of 2012. I went down for the Black Friday Swell and You could only go through at Low Tide with a 4 x 4. Everyone else had to wait for hours to catch the emergency ferry. Heaviest surf I've caught. Even this picture I took below doesn't do it justice. This was just an average wave.....there were some considerably bigger. Like Cloudbreak with chocolate milk water. Matt Lusk has had some great pictures published from this day.

It's a ghost town as of 5pm. No one is allowed over the bridge until further notice unless you have a NC license with an island residence, possibly if you own property but Im not sure. I wouldnt want to cross that bridge after 8pm anyways.

We evacuated our house in Avon yesterday. We were the only clowns on our street to leave. I might have stayed if the family wasn't there. Hope everyone stays safe and the few of you brave souls who stayed score some meaty ones.

I was at Killington mid march hitting the pow for the blizzard, so cantore is up at the bottlom of the bud light race course preparing to look cool skiing 50 yards to the lodge for his blizzard update
. After all the prep he froze up and slid stiff and akward then two 15 yr olds jump in the shot behind him and start heckling him it was great...
