Monday, 7/07/14 ...Brad Domke just rode the biggest wave ever surfed on a skimboard. It went down in the swell that recently hit Puerto Escondido, where Shane Dorian airdropped into what might have been wave of the year so far.

...His unique game of surfing waves on a skimboard, which some choose to call skurfing, is mesmerising. There’s no mods; the board Domke surfs huge Mexican beachies on is the same one he runs in skim contests...

the fact it's real is pretty mind blowing, but he got towed in and I'm guessing he bailed at the bottom shortly after this pic was taken...probably among record breaker breath holders, too

It's a frame grab so I guess we'll see video proof soon.

I saw that in the article and had the same reaction...think they were referring to another swell he surfed/skurfed/whateveryawanttocallit out therte prior to the one pictured. If people start calling that 10 ft I f'n quit.

Worst part would be when you slide/carve into a not so good place in front of the lip and have no fins to dig in and get yourself even a little bit out of the way.

well, after viewing the vids, I was wrong...he didn't bail at the bottom and he is a freak. Not so pleasant to watch though because, most of the time, he's flailing his arms to keep balance...but then he does a shove-it or a grab rail carve and it's all smooth. Great thread, btw.
